Curious how the discount is the preorder price? The price is the price regardless of a preorder. Also, when did anyone say they were expecting a discount price?

I think there was a noodling around potentially using discounts as part of a hypothetical marketing program i.e. brand ambassadors or something.

As for the preorder price being a discount in as much that it counts towards the purchase of a vehicle. So not really discount... more like a sarcastic euphemism for lulz.

"Yes, there is a distinct demographic to the preordered Slate Auto trucks. According to data from early reservations and executive insights, the primary appeal spans "everyday Americans" looking for utility, car junkies, tech-forward young professionals, and a strong secondary wave of retirees/seniors. Because the vehicle is positioned as a minimalist, highly modular, sub-$25,000 EV truck, its consumer base differs dramatically from premium electric trucks like the Tesla Cybertruck or Rivian R1T."
Sounds like there are gonna be plenty of people who lean to this EV, in California,Texas, and Florida, in this representative group already.

Along the lines of both the ambassador and the showroom, I’d like to find a small property (nearby in AZ) where I could host events. I’d like to offer Slate owners a secure location for the delivery of their parts….ex an individual living in an apartment with no garage or reserved parking. Maybe this same individual is lacking in the tool department. They could come to my property to retrieve their items and possibly even coordinate with other owners to work together to install. It would not be licensed work. I’m not interested in building a shop but more of a community center. I even purchased Slate family support as a website if I can figure out how to become an ambassador for the brand. Thoughts?

Same here. This is what the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) does to an extent with their member directory. You can reach out to a NHRA member if you need some assistance away from home. Have experienced utilizing this and it is a tremendous resource that exceeds anything a typical OEM provides. Getting sanctioning with SLATE should occur over time as it aligns with the biz model.
