The system does look very nice. Big fan of the sleek, screen-free controls.
As I've said before, I don't want to do the bluetooth song and dance, so I'll consider it only if it has aux-in. I do have audio quality concerns too, and I'd spend more than $400 for a better-sounding system.
It's...
Itās a novelty item, really. Youāll gain a tiny bit of power from the sun, and youāll lose a tiny bit of efficiency from the added weight on your truck.
The value of it is entirely in the bragging rights and the coolness factor. Which is valid, it is very cool.
Is this a bad time to start another cart-before-the-horse conversation about future Slate models? This is kind of an unserious idea. As I said, it came to me in a dream.:giggle:
What if the next model was the Slate Double Truckā or Slate Triple Truck depending on how you look at it. The same...
Ha! So I called it in my original post after all.
So what do we think is in the menu then? Someone mentioned setting the charging limit and scheduling charging, which is a good idea. I'm still hoping for the ability to show miles and kilometers, and a choice of themes/fonts/colors for the screen!
Okay so after watching some of the review videos, turns out there is an interior light built in! This screenshot is from the recent video by MKBHD. I had assumed that rectangle was something else, but there it is, definitely a light.
Thanks for this! Wow we got lots of specific symbols. So even fewer messages that the screen has to handle. I'm thinking the screen will be a lot simpler than I imagined.
No no I meant on like the interior door handle. Basically Iād want it to turn on whenever that is pulled. Thatās why Iām not sure if itās possible, because the wiring would be tricky.
Anyone else wanting the taller side mirrors we saw on a few of the prototypes? I was surprised to see so many accessories added to the website today but not the tall mirrors. Would be on my list to buy.
A push-button light to mount to the ceiling would be another great simple accessory for Slate to sell. If not, I'll buy my own somewhere.
I like that the dome light in my Ford turns on whenever I open the door from the inside, and turns off on a timer. I wonder if it's possible to DIY that with...
It's actually cheaper than I expected. A true hi-fi stereo system would cost way more than that. Without knowing anything about the audio quality of Slate's system, no one can say whether that's a good deal or not.
All these nicely separated buttons are pretty strong evidence against the theory of a navigable settings menu in there. I'm actually quite drawn to the neatness of each setting having its own button, even if it means there are fewer settings. I'm definitely really glad for at least some...
