That has been gone for over a decade if not 2 as far as I know. I think the last one to have it was the TJ, so 2006. Short search says they stopped 2010s but I have never seen one in a JK (06-18) or a JL (18+) and I see alot lol

Looks like from 1994-2014 ashtrays and lighters were removed as standard equipment on vehicles from most manufacturers, but most still have the add on option available for it.

A push-button light to mount to the ceiling would be another great simple accessory for Slate to sell. If not, I'll buy my own somewhere.

I like that the dome light in my Ford turns on whenever I open the door from the inside, and turns off on a timer. I wonder if it's possible to DIY that with some kind of motion sensor.

I really hope there's an easy way to get power to the headliner for stuff like that. I have some old car dome lights I'd love to slap up there.

Doubtful, pretty sure ashtrays went into an optional smokers package well before power windows became standard on lots of vehicles.
On storage, even with both the center speaker and the speaker pair, there is a bit of dash space for a small storage space, and the console adds space.

No no I meant on like the interior door handle. Basically I’d want it to turn on whenever that is pulled. That’s why I’m not sure if it’s possible, because the wiring would be tricky.

Okay so after watching some of the review videos, turns out there is an interior light built in! This screenshot is from the recent video by MKBHD. I had assumed that rectangle was something else, but there it is, definitely a light.

This mirror assembly irritates me. I really want to know how it's installed in that hump. I asked the Slate reps repeatedly about this as I'm one of the people who's going to be swapping that out with a Gentex auto dimmer. I NEED it to be removable. We'll see how the production one goes, but this is how I plan on doing it.

Gentex mirrors have an actual lock-bolt on the windshield button. Hopefully the mirror is on that and not some proprietary mount.
