I always look with my body, neck and head turned into any lane changes - the old fashioned way.
Never trusted the BLIS/BSW system in any of my cars - still have that old habit of turning my head to verify.
I own a Ford EV plus Honda PHEV and at home, the PHEV gets charged every night.
As for my BEV, I charge at Tesla Superchargers because it's cheaper than charging at home believe it or not.
In So Calif where electricity is pricey ($0.61/kWh), unless I charge my Ford at home on midnight or...
Going from working class to contemporary senior next year and currently drive a Ford EV.
Looking forward to switching to the Slate as my driving needs will be dropping a lot as I earn my pilot license and put money towards my dream plane:
Agree, as a commuter vehicle, 150 mile range is fine.
I have a base standard range EV w/ 70kW battery I use daily and find that I only need to charge once a week at Tesla Supercharger.
Sometimes for weekend trips, I will charge at home.
Always believed in charging to 100% which is not truly...
While the Ford Lightning has those abilities, my Ford Mach E does not.
I don't know how large the battery capacity compares, but I'd be happy just to charge at Tesla Superchargers.
So today's Q&A presentation said something about keyless entry but requires you to plug the key fob into the car to start it ?
Did I hear that correctly ?
Never got my question answered about Tesla Supercharger partnership, plug and charge and how it would work since the vehicle does not connect to the Internet.
My questions:
Who and where will service department work be performed ?
Will there be any mobile service options ?
What is the update on Tesla Supercharger access - will rates be "non Tesla" pricing or will Tesla offer a discounted driver rate for a monthly subscription ?
Lots of modern vehicles have this feature for energy savings, less diode heating and overall life.
My BEV has a lot of them from the internal motion sensors, eye tracking IR lights, license plate lights, interior lighting and the parking lights.
I don't notice them when I drive because the...
It sure would be nice if Slate can offer pre-orders now before 9/30 and do a binding agreement with us so that we are sure to get one at a later date and claim the $7500 tax credit.
But that credit hinges on the battery sourcing and assembly......
Maybe Slate can team up with Ford Lightning EV...
No, as long as there a binding agreement before 9/30 you are good to go.
This would apply to custom builds, special orders, or in this case of the Slate, a new model.
With a binding agreement (non refundable) taking delivery anytime after the 9/30 deadline and still claim the $7500.
It's very possible - in the past Rivian, Chevy, and Lucid offered an IRS condition of a binding contract that allows you to take delivery at a later date.
Here are the snapshots of the IRS 30D for EVs:
Haven't driven highway speeds to find out, next weekend planning on 400 mile road trip that I know so well - will report back.
I drive in bumper to bumper traffic daily so no range loss - actually I get better range due to the smoother, regen cruising with the smoother LRR EV tires.
