All these weird hypotheticals you've come up with have completely moved away from the original intent of the conversation that is to state for most people the simpler maintenance of an EV is a selling point that goes along with the simplicity ethos of Slate. That's it, I'm done with this...
Because those are all "get to"s, not "have to"s. Like another poster said, mods are not maintenance, and not all people that mod want or can do maintenance. And vice versa.
Again you're completely missing the point. You're coming at this from a mechanic perspective, we're all talking about this from an ownership perspective as it relates to routine maintenance, not complete component or system failures.
Regardless of EV or ICE, for the vast majority of vehicle...
You're hyper focused on one item in a list of examples and completely missing the point of the discussion, we're talking about the overall complexity of the vehicle. There's about a couple dozen possible points of failure in a BEV, vs a couple hundred or thousand in an ICE. It's not even a...
LOL You're completely reaching LOL. At no point did I speak to the frequency of those items or imply something like a 3 month maintenance schedule, just that they all add complexity and are items that will at some point need to be addressed and are potential points of failure. LOL
Also, the...
Agreed. For me the simplicity and it being an EV are interlinked. I know the electric system is incredibly complex technically, but it eliminates all the worry and maintenance and complexity of an ICE. Oil changes, spark plugs, fuel injectors, valve checks, etc etc. If it was a simple and basic...
Seriously WTF is a 'digital experience'? I can't think of many things that are more ANALOG than driving a car.
"Hooray more screens with menus inside of menus inside of menus just to change the temperature setting and voice activation that thinks you're speaking Albanian and more sensors and...
This is the same facility that was in the Munro Live youtube video from about 2 months ago right? The build in these pictures definitely looks more refined than what was in that video.
Am I the only one that really doesn't care if Slate sells 100 or 100,000,000 vehicles? I just want one, that's all I care about.
As far as longevity of the company goes it's so simple and modular that the venn diagram between people buying a Slate and the diehard maker/tinker community is...
I'm curious if there are any updates on the Warsaw plant. I see tons of update posts on Linkedin about people getting hired. But my biggest question is will trucks actually be rolling off the line at the end of 2026?
What about something like Cerakote Ceramic Trim Restorer? I used it on the plastic panels of my Element and it has been working great. Restored the shiny factory look and has held up well through washes and weather.
