For at least the smaller battery, track time + break time getting lunch if you leave + time there and back would certainly be pushing it. Especially on a longer or more technical course
TFL is garbage and is basically a cheap mouthpiece for Toyota.
Also these were the same idiots arguing that if Kei trucks were facing legal issues due to safety and highway capabilities, Old jeeps, VW beetles etc shouldn't be legal either, completely ignoring both the half century of tech...
Back when I still planned on getting a slate is actually inquired with my closest SCCA club about this and they gave me a similar answer. The lowered ones will probably do fine, although id worry about battery
Seeing as they fit existing wheels im wondering what bolt pattern they run. I was curious about this sort of thing
Also makes me curious how much of this is partsbin, which makes for good aftermarket
Could see it either being right in front of the plate recess or possibly underneath. Alternatively I see 2 square ports there, behind that is rhe metal core for the bumper so there could possibly be some sort of oddball factory hitch for the rear bumper that mounts to those 2 spots with the...
My F150 has a proper frame as well, but it also had a bumper hitch mount that was 1500 rated iirc. Maverick is unibody, no real frame, 2000-4000lb towing.
Even it has a sort of frame or partial frame, its gunna base on how the hitch mounts up to it. And my guess looking at the slate is thats...
Looks to be a couple things.
My guess would be a mix of range extension, electrical system capabilities vs towing and cooling, and from what ive seen, lack of a proper frame to hitch with. Seems to be a bumper hitch.
Price point and type of body doesnt determine towing. Ability to stop...
I think the "do i need AWD for snow" question in the car world is possibly one of the most annoying out there.
Model Ts drove in the snow.
The muscle cars of the 60s drove in the snow.
Every car made in the last 100+ years drove in the snow. For the majority of those years, RWD was the...
I think ive mentioned this before but I dont think anyone is buying a slate for real truck work. Fleet work, around town work yes. Autozone delivery truck type stuff. But no one is going to buy this thing and then try to haul bricks with it everyday. Ive said here before that id be keeping my...
A few things
The Ford is, allegedly, supposed to be around the price of the Slate.
The Ford will be built here, a point against the maverick, and a slate feature i like.
The Ford will likely be RWD, something i liked about the Slate.
The Ford doesnt use Chinese motors, which is something...
Been watching that one for awhile. Supposed to be a combination compact/pickup/rideshare car platform.
Combination of price changes and chinese electric motors have largely put me off the slate. At the point its at, I feel the Ford will be better for the $$$
I think Slate will still do well...
