This is the small truck Tesla should have produced...

I could be wrong of course, but seems to me that many here extolling the perceived negatives the Slate vs something like a Maverick aren’t really in the market for a truck, most anything with room behind the rear seat would suffice If completely honest. OK, maybe a few whose trash cans wouldn’t...

Aptera-style solar panels in SUV option.

The integrated PV approach definitely risks obsolescence, then again, my House panels already are, but still function admirably. I’d even be happy with a partial solution. roof mounted panels I can integrate into the 12vdc system and charge a battery similiar to the Apex 300 that Ican recharge...

    Wrap or no wrap?

I don’t see myself doing a full wrap. Sometimes I think a highlight stripe of 76 Toyota pu blue in homage to my wife’s old truck would be nice. On the practical side, I’ll be 80yo when I get my Slate, likely still in good shape for my estate. When time comes.

Deep dive article: 70+ Slate prototypes built already -- "Inside the stealth production facility"

I purposely bought a 4 door crew cab Tundra 1794 last Nov. There are many times I have 2 additional, but sometimes only 1 additional passenger. Love this truck, but honest it has way more tech than I want, more than I use. Amazing the number of times something may need to be turned...

Seems to me that over the years, negative reporting has become more popular, maybe even the norm. If a writer can’t end on a definitive negative note, at least strongly hint. i have a friend with a Lucid, but it would never be on my radar strictly based on price.

From the article Slate is using the location — a stone’s throw away from a massive General Motors assembly plant — to produce more than 70 vehicles for internal testing, certification and everything else a company needs to prepare to produce and sell vehicles in the United States.

Not even 3 years yet! 70 prototypes vs 1 Telo! The naysayers can be wrong. Will be most interesting to get a six month update. i know I can hardly wait.

    Outsourcing the frame build.

Pretty sure some of the videos show the frame.

    Outsourcing the frame build.

My Kawasaki Mule has DeDion Axle. Isn’t the Slate supposed to use that?

PSA: Extended Range Battery can NOT be added / retrofit installed after purchase (confirmed by Slate)

Benjamin looking forward to see your candidates for charger/inverter vs Apex 300. A bit disappointed no native DC output as I’m hoping to augment the Slates 12DC for what ever I might add and maybe get a milage benefit if that 12vdc is external and not from Slate battery.

Slate is "confident in our plan -- [tax] incentive or not."

And I hope it is a healthy percentage after we get ours.
