Ah! I just checked this like an hour ago and there wasn't anything new at that point. Glad they've got some specifics... bummed there's nothing remotely close to my area. Was considering going to the Salt Lake City one if it materialized, but bummed they took it off.
Those of you that get to go...
The rep told me neither V2L nor outlets in the frunk/bed would be included on the initial production, but they didn’t say it wouldn’t be an option to add… so that may be the case. It may also be the case that the rep who responded to me or the one that responded to you doesn’t have completely...
That may be that we need to be more specific… I did specifically ask Slate about V2L as well as outlets in the bed or frunk. The answer I got back was that neither would be in the initial production vehicle. They did not specify or even mention if it would be an added option or not.
I’ve seen...

This looks very similar to the Jeep Cherokee I had back in the day. First vehicle I purchased with my own money. RWD and developed a cracked muffler and could be heard coming a mile away. Leaked oil all over the driveway. Has some resemblance to the Slate in SUV mode though...
Hopefully it will be an added option… I hadn’t seen this thread and just reached out to Slate and was told V2L won’t be included on the initial production model. They didn’t explicitly say it would or wouldn’t be available as an added option in the response I got.
Yes, those are definitely good options and would be a little more flexible than plugging into the truck itself at times. Still hope it maybe has outlets as an added option
According to the rep that responded to me from Slate, I wonder if that statement in the other thread isn’t actually confirmed. Of course there’s been some incidences of Slate reps giving the wrong information, so I’d love it if the response I got was inaccurate.
Just re-read your response. If...
Just heard back on an inquiry about vehicle to load and outlets in the Slate, and I’m a little bummed about the response. I asked if it would have V2L capability and if there would be outlets in the bed or frunk of the vehicle and the vague response was that there would be neither in the initial...
I've seen mention in other threads of a desire for a bench seat in the front. I would also like to see this, but it's pretty clear from this overhead view that it would only be good in a pinch for short drives around town. I still like the idea though.
Yeah, the Tacoma is awful as far as passenger space and comfort - and not just for the rear seat passengers. One of the main reasons I got rid of mine a couple years ago. The Slate does look like the rear seat comfort may be a little better, at least once you're in place, though I'm sure getting...
There are trucks that still offer a bench seat. Chevy Silverado had it as an option recently, not sure if they still do, the new Scout is supposed to have a bench seat option
That is what we did. We have two EV’s (no more ICE for us) and <15 mile round trip commutes and we just did a 14-50 Nema plug and use the charger that came with one of the cars with its 240 adapter. Can easily recharge from pretty low to full overnight on the rare occasion that’s needed.
I...
Nice! I thought I’d seen every video out there on the Slate, but hadn’t seen this one.
Couple things that it answers (and makes me like the Slate even more):
- You don’t need the app to operate the vehicle. I’ve seen some people concerned that it would be required and would have a paid...

My thoughts exactly on Doug Demuro. That guy drives me nuts. Quirkiness only goes so far. It may establish a cult following but not a mass market.
Telo is one of the worst looking vehicles I’ve seen in decades, and I’ve seen what Hyundai and Kia have done during that time. The general...
