I think the removable Bluetooth speaker is a theft magnet.
if we do get a slate Iām planning on a double dstereo hardwired to real speakers and it will support wireless Carplay + have a real volume knob!
Theft proof, simple, low cost, and I can keep my phone in my pocket if I want.
im fine...
Fwiw we just purchased a 25 maverick hybrid AWD. It tows 4000 lbs, has 4 doors, and gets 40+ mpg in the city and mid 30s on the highway. I have a reservation for a slate. I donāt need 2 pickups, but what I want is a small around town EV with room for me and my wife and a way to haul everything...
The fastback top was initially shown with fixed glass. You canāt take the rear glass off the cab and use it without some additional work as it needs to have a longer vertical component if installed at an angle and you want to maintain the body lines. I bet the fastback will eventually come...
Want just the top. We would move the back glass and keep the partition if it adds rigidity, but if not, weād pull the partition out and open up the rear seat cavity as a place to put groceries, etc. behind the seats.
I suspect you either keep the partition or get the roll bar.
The miles seem low based on the vehicle size ( weight) and battery pack. Hopefully, unlike Tesla, they are under promising and will over deliver⦠pulling a āScottyā
We had a Bolt EUV and Iāve driven a Kona EV. Chevy bolts have fantastic one pedal mode. Easy to modulate and full auto brake when stopped. The GM engineers nailed it. The Kona, not so much.
Just 1 dayā¦.
This was the Slate agent's answer:
Thank you for your interest in Slate! The Slate will have both one pedal driving as well as regenerative braking! Additionally, more information regarding specific specs will be available closer to time of production!
Cheers,

2 wheel tow dolly? Park the rear wheels on it?

Got a confirmation from Slate that it will support one-pedal driving (and of course will have regen braking).
Update - this was the Slate agent's reply:
Had a BOLT EUV with regen and, to GM's credit, an excellent one-pedal mode. FWD single motor. BOLTs are excellent EVs, but they don't charge very fast on level-3 chargers.
Hardwiring a pair of passive dash speakers is as easy as powering 2 Bluetooth speakers. You are either running a power wire or a speaker wire. Just a pair of speaker grills as an option would be my request. DIY your own aftermarket speakers.
I disagree. The ev range is probably more than enough for most peopleās local daily needs. The ice range extender allows a single vehicle to be practical as a commuter AND a long distance cruiser. I wish my mav was an erev. The slate + mav = an erev scout. Scout cost about the same but now will...
Just adding a portable generator will probably NOT work, or at best, won't work very well at all.
I doubt the vehicle will even let you charge it while driving. In addition, you'll probably want at least 11KW to covert to 220ac, and then the car's internal charger will convert it back to DC to...
Not really.the first reservations are first in line but delivery logistics are also in play, so it also depends on your location too. When I asked I wasnāt given my place in line but they said since I made my reservation early Friday morning I was going to be able to get it sooner than later.
