Just found this interesting when I stumbled upon this slateevtruck.com website and was wondering when it was registered.
Checked a free age domain checker and the site was registered in April this year.

Just for fun, and because we know the Slate team scours the forums too. ;)
I'm going to put it out there that the base model be priced at $23,499, and the extended battery be priced at $26,499. And please make the SUV+seats and Fastback+seats at $3,499.
That would be ~$26,998 for the base with...
That’s my concern as well for the accessories. Even though Slate doesn’t have “Trims” aside from the Base and Extended battery, the accessories if they are on the high end will be a detractor for purchase.
I’m considering extended battery, SUV + seats out the door. And center console and...
I agree, hoping Slate just continues to focus on the core accessories and let the market come up with the rest. Maybe Slate could work with the established manufactures that already make these canopies for other vehicles, like they are working with wrap companies for their decals and wraps.
At least from Slate, it is sadly from them being vague on price.
From reporters and journalists, they’ve been relying on the “It’s in the low $20k after incentive” from April; so folks go off that and now that the EV Tax credit is gone, the math is $20k + $7,500 = $27,500.
Until the price is...
From what I’ve watched and read, there hasn’t been a price announced outside of the initial “Under $20ks” before the announcement of OBBB, and after the bill, the CEO mentioning “Mid-$20ks”.
Even with the interviews who mention $25k, the CEO doesn’t directly answer.
Even the one with...
Yeah, looks like it’s for kids. The host said legroom looks decent and was fine, but she’s 5’3, so YMMV. I’m 5’10” and a wide guy and my Honda Fit rear seats are more comfortable than my spouses Subaru Crosstrek. Then again, I don’t sit in the rear seats very often.
The host (Kristen Lee) from MotorTrend Channel had questions about the panels being easily stolen, no official answer.
She mentioned that the first video they posted that the host Alex was 6’10” and she is 5’3”
The wrap was poorly installed, she mentioned it was prototype. I bet my self install...
I’d watched and read a few videos and interviews. Even the one with Sherwood.news reporter asking about the $25k price, but CEO Chris never confirmed or denied the $25k and just reiterated that cars are too expensive...
I had a Sony unit in my Honda Fit and also installed in my spouses Toyota Corolla. Sony XAV-AX100. Mine had a real knob for volume vs the buttons or touch volume that some cars and head units went to.
Nice blue wrap with the open air kit and seats installed.
Looks like the person could not go into this unit, but the Boston event would have a unit that folks can get into.

In the Rich Rebuilds video, he was talking to Slate Accessory manager Jordan, and one of the renders showed a Sony CarPlay render above and slightly offset from the AC controls, taking the center space location.
Fun interview.
Chris tells about the CEO of Re:Build Manufacturing Miles Arnone coming up with the idea of a super basic vehicle.
How Chris came to Slate.

Hosts mention $25k price point again.
They’ve already crash tested half of the ~70 units they’ve built...
CEO Chris Barman from Slate hopes so.
"We're going to be pulling from the whole 35 million used vehicle (market)," Barman said, where shoppers figured they may be forced to settle for fewer safety standards and no warranty. "Now, they can step into a vehicle that has all the latest safety...
Another article about Slate, not much new we haven’t already seen.

Interesting bits:
Our business model was never built upon that tax credit being in place," Barman told The Detroit News at the...
I’ve got a 2012 Honda Fit, and the Slate is competing with me getting the last available US Honda Fit model sold, 2020. I’ve also considered the Honda HR-V and the Toyota CR-V.
I would always tell my kids that I missed old small trucks like the old SR-5s.
This appeals to the small length (~177...
