  1. Bench seating for front

i definitely want a bench seat. I have 3 kids and sometimes need to take 2 of them somewhere. most of the time we take my wifes SUV, but sometimes i need to. Without the bench seat I would probably get a minivan or sprinter van for road trips.
  2. Interesting video from Mobile Mama for Slate.

there are many types of work though that need a bed but also dont have to be heavy duty. I for one hunt, kitesurf, and mountainbike. Also pick up bulk mulch and rocks for landscaping. I need the bed so I can just hose it out. But mostly I dont need to pull a lot of weight. Lots of companies...
  3. Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

there is nothing wrong with the ramcharger in an objective sense. It is not for you and me, that doesnt make it a bad truck If people want an EV truck that they can take long distance without having to plan charging and that is their top priority then EREV trucks (scout/ramcharger) are the main...
  4. Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

There was nothing that would dissuade me (missing a bunch of tech stuff that i dont really care about). All these car nuts want superfast cars, that is irrelevant for me. For me though, Im not spending 70K or even 50K on a car. The first review kept saying you could get a plaid for the price...
  5. Slatelets - opinions?

im not a looks person. I care about function over form. This is why Im glad I dont even have to pay for paint. I definitely wont bother with anything that is about looks.
  6. What are your personal MUST HAVE Add-Ons/Accessories for your Slate?

trifold tonneau cover, 2" hitch (for bike rack), power passenger sideview mirror
  7. Updated Slate interior digital dash

i love how there is nothing. Just AC controls.
  8. Slate’s affordability model being adopted at GM

you wont be able to find a bolt in the base configuration. When dealers add $2K paint protection or $1K floormats that cant be removed...
  9. Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

There are certain things I want 1) smaller form factor. You cant get a 173 inch maverick. This is important for people that live in cities and have to park on crowded streets, or have smaller garages. 2) no infotainment. I find myself very annoyed by the brightness of the infotainment giant...
  10. Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

I got a few quotes for about 2K for a wired L2 charger (240v cable has to go all the way across the house). Right now Im using an L1 plugged into a regular outlet and it can just barely give a full charge to our PHEV (23Kwh). We have a space in our driveway that is right next to the main...
  11. PSA: Extended Range Battery can NOT be added / retrofit installed after purchase (confirmed by Slate)

philosophically you might be against a gas generator, but the scout and ramcharger are coming with EREV. They use a gas engine to charge the battery. With a 10kw generator inverter you can use gas (or propane) to give yourself enough charge for the costco run.
  12. Will you have self control when choosing add-ons?

i think i would take it stock and would leave it stock. Electric passenger side mirror would be the one option I might want if it is available. I dont need speakers and using my phone to nav is fine for me. I hate the brightness of giant screens in new cars when driving at night. If there is...
  13. Deep dive article: 70+ Slate prototypes built already -- "Inside the stealth production facility"

I hate spending money on cars. A car is to get me from point a to point b. I also do a lot of dirty sports. Hunting (blood, fur), kitesurfing (salt/sand/water), mountain biking, camping. I never wash my truck because I like it dirty. It has scrapes and dings so I dont care if I get more scrapes...
  14. Small vs Large Trucks

I have a 2010 tundra crewmax. Before that I had a 2000 tundra. I really wanted the 2010 tacoma because the tundra was now way too big. The tacoma was the same size as the old tundra but was in high demand because gas prices were skyrocketing. The tundra was actually cheaper because no one wanted...
  15. Suspension Poll: Lifted, Lowered, or Standard Height?

i dont like scraping curbs or scraping the hitch when pulling out of steep driveways. If the ground clearance is 6 inches (some people reported this) then I would lift to 9. If the ground clearance is more like 11, then I wouldnt lift.
  16. Factory in Warsaw visit - photos and my interview with guard (June 4, 2025)

drone flyovers are marketing for slate. They should encourage them.
  17. Poll: Slate's second model - what do you think it will be?

I think the very next thing they will do is extend the cab to have the same second row of seats as the current SUV, but extend the bed. keep the wheelbase the same The seats already fit so it would just be a bed extension and a shorter cap --- Not a whole new vehicle, but an AWD option for sure.
  18. Slate pickup sighting in downtown Warsaw, IN! (w/ frunk, bed, charging port closeup)

Everyone likes something different. I dont care about looks at all, so it would be fine for me. I usually pick silver because it doesnt show dirt and I rarely wash my truck. I wouldnt do a single thing for looks, only functionality. I happen to have a red truck right now because that was the...
