  4. WiFi Connectivity for vehicle control scheduling

people who have never made corporate software dont understand 1) software as described needs a server side as well as the client side. Any hardware interface needs embedded software. People will need to design the circuit board interfaces. You need product management, development, architecture...

  6. So many posts about, will you still buy without EV credit [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Im their perfect customer: I want an EV truck (a car form factor is not acceptable) I want to pay less than 30K. I want it to be shorter than my 2010 tundra, ideally less than 200 inches. The tundra is great but I want something smaller. I dont care about paint, infotainment, speakers, etc. I...
  7. WiFi Connectivity for vehicle control scheduling

We should not have any of those. Building an app is not easy and would require an entire software team.
  8. Basic questions about one pedal driving (Full regen?)

like many things you need to practice. You cant just lift of the gas, feather the gas and let the car slowly slow down. 1 pd driving can feel exactly like driving with 2 pedals. Just like you dont slam on the brakes, you cant just suddenly lift off the gas pedal like you are used to doing.
  9. Confirmed: 4x4 all-wheel drive AWD planned for future Slate version!

the interesting thing is the simpler it is the less things there are to break. In my tundra, one of the items that famously went bad, is a secondary air injection system. The only purpose is to run for 60-90 seconds when the car is first turned on to reduce emissions. Somehow the pump would...
  10. Confirmed: 4x4 all-wheel drive AWD planned for future Slate version!

airing down tires can help a lot. I got stuck in the sand on a beach in my rwd 2000 tundra. It was one of the reasons I sold it. In 15 years of owning it, I really needed my 4wd in my 2010 tundra for only one week during an ice storm in texas.
  11. How does the truck bed work?

There looks to be front and rear vertical slots too. You can use those as dividers to keep stuff from sliding around, or mount things like bike wheel mounts onto the wood.
  12. How does the truck bed work?

they need a better vendor for their plywood sheets..
  13. Aftermarket sunroof - Suitable for Slate

Im the opposite. I have never used the sunroof on any car ive owned, ever. To me it just a way to make the car hotter as the sun shines through it. my wife's mercedes came with a giant panoramic sunroof which was a 1K option. What a waste of money. At least it didnt come with the 2K paint...
  14. Article: Ram CEO: Slate Vehicles Won't Be So Cheap Once Buyers Get Done Optioning Them Up

The big things trucks can do that suvs cannot 1) spray to wash out sand, dirt, blood, etc Or dont wash it at all 2) can drop loads in the top like bulk mulch, gravel etc. 1400 pounds is a little light but sufficient for most home stuff. Anything more and you can get it delivered 3) can carry...

  19. What was your first vehicle?

sounds like a fishing attempt to get the answer to one of your security questions.
  20. Slate will manufacture its seats in house at Warsaw factory

Im pretty red and pro EV. Just as the other guy said, Im not pro EV mandate. when people say we *have* to switch to EVs for climate, Ill say BS. If you say EVs are more convenient, require less service, have better performance, etc then Im on board. The simpler drivetrain of EVs should make...
