I’m also thinking the cabin rear panel, mid-gate or whatever is proper name stays in place in the non passenger model for increased strength. Some may remove after the fact, but my dogs are used to that separation, relocating the window portion is fine.
Agreed. I think removal of the mid gate for the Slate Cargo will be optional.

Sorry to inform that, according to Inside EVs: The partition between the cab and the bed gets taken out. Perhaps there is a workaround, but there may be some hardware that needs to be accessed in the partition area to properly install the SUV kit. Please don't shoot the messenger.
Absolutely, can’t see how you could do the seat without removing. My thinking has to do with no seat and hopefully no rollbar.

guessing my dogs would prefer it having to be removed, but then the 3 boxers would be competing with wife for the passenger seat.

Might be a good use for an aftermarket bench seat in the front as the divider between the dogs in the back and you + wife in the front

I love the idea of a sunroof for the removable SUV kit roof panel - yes that panel can be removed for open air, but there are times of year where open air isn't ideal, but having the light and openness of a sunroof is. That would be cool option for Slate to offer - either a translucent panel or one with a window embedded. But I would be interested in these aftermarket options from DONMAR - once some reviews are in.

Many years ago (1990) we bought a new Pathfinder and had dealer arrange for sunroof (moonroof) install. It was great. All subsequent new vehicles have had them. We are not big ac fans.

Im the opposite. I have never used the sunroof on any car ive owned, ever. To me it just a way to make the car hotter as the sun shines through it.

my wife's mercedes came with a giant panoramic sunroof which was a 1K option. What a waste of money. At least it didnt come with the 2K paint protection or the 3K AMG pinstripe. I *love* that the slate will be the bare minimum.

Honda element sunroof made it easy to stand up and change in.
I've only had to use mine once but it was a lifesaver! Had to get some long sections of PVC home that would have otherwise made me keep the tailgate open.
