  1. Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

Is the strategy with Slate customer service to just keep re-asking a question until a rep gives you the answer you want, and then stop asking?
  2. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but a deciding factor in my car purchases is not how easy it is to tow
  3. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

A fair point. If the slate released as only a truck, we wouldnt even be comparing it to some SUVs. Maybe the SUV kit was relatively easy for Slate to develop, and they just hope it will draw some buyers, not be the primary driver of sales.
  4. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

I mean.... pointing out flat towing support is the definition of picking and choosing arguments. Useful for some, but a vast vast majority of Americans never flat tow a car. The fact of the matter is, if someone is shopping for an EV SUV to get them to and from places, the Equinox EV will beat...
  5. Slate CEO talks accessories, third party parts, Slate Marketplace (TechCrunch interview)

Slate will have to sell to multiple consumers (I'd argue thousands!) to make a profit, and each of those consumers has different wants. One may want crank windows, one may want drive assist.
  6. Worst-case Scenario Range Estimates for each battery type (my calculations)

I'm sure you will get varying opinions on the first part (which I deleted)- but I think you nailed it here, something I've been trying to articulate. There is a MASSIVE segment of people who just.... drive their car. Nothing crazy. Rarely more than 1 person in it, even more rare that 2+ are in...
  7. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

I learned how to work on cars, the same way my daddy did. Online trainings. Seems to be a recipe for success.
  8. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

To me, this seems like Slate is just trying to go as hands off as possible while checking a box. You're concerned about local service, buying D2C? Look, we have TONS of local service centers! I can't imagine there is going to be a high level of training or familiarity from all 4000 centers...
  9. How adventurous are you going to be orderiing your Slate?

Looks like you were on the mark- quite a few articles post to being in the process of Series C funding. https://techcrunch.com/2025/07/08/why-this-los-angeles-vc-firm-was-an-early-investor-in-slate-auto/...
  10. 2026 Nissan Leaf price will start at 25,360?

I'm optimistic for the R2. My only concern is pricing. EV pricing is dropping across the market, and 45k starting will become less and less competitive.
  11. Happy 6-month anniversary

My overall enthusiasm has dropped. Haven't seen any groundbreaking news (not that we'd expect it this far out), and the cancellation of the tax credit positions this closer to some alternatives for me. Still the car I am watching the closest, but definitely not a "must buy". Hoping they...
  12. Simple low-tech audio ideas

There are definitely good sounding bluetooth speakers. Love em. Even the best will sound like dookie in a car. I've done it. The spacing, lack of stereo, etc all make it tough to get good output from bluetooth. Not to mention manually connecting every time you get in, charging, etc.
  13. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

They are different. And each have their own complexities. If you'd like to grasp at this straw, the EV has an additional conversion not mentioned- the conversion of both chemical potential energy as well as kinetic energy into thermal energy as waste. If I had two ICEs next to each other, all...
  14. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

Yeah.... Through combustion covers that in my book..... I apologize my semantics weren't up to your standards. My entire point still stands.
  15. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

Well, if you make that assumption, sure. But, that’s not a correct assumption, at all. Like, even in the slightest.
  16. Simple low-tech audio ideas

I'll give one reason why not... it'll sound awful
  17. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

You are removing one complexity, and adding a different one. Less moving parts does not automatically equal more reliable. They are entirely different assemblies. Different reactions even. An internal combustion engine (ICE) converts chemical potential energy in fuel into kinetic energy...
  18. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

I mean.... sure? Not really sure how that is relevant. Something moving doesn't equate to something breaking. The battery doesn't "move" - but there are hundreds of points of failure on it.
  19. If the Slate PU came only as an ICE, I would buy one.

Well, good thing the Slate's drivetrain is well documented and proven!
