I like that idea. It hasn't caught on with the general public. Maybe it will.
I my collection of word meanings SUV originally meant a truck-based K-5 Blazer, Bronco, Cherokee, and whatnot.
Flash forward to now and the meaning has been watered down.
FWIW, here's an AI summary of SUV...
No worries, that's not important.
OK, let's do that.
Regarding towing capacity,
Slate Truck = apple 🍎
[some economy car that tows] = apple 🍏
[some pickup truck] = [some other fruit] 🍊
Compact economy cars that tow only have on the order of 1,000 pounds of Towing Capacity.
The Slate Truck...
From the first part of the discussion...
A 2-door small truck has been missing from the USA market.
Factory is nearly empty except a Customer Experience Center.
The overall vibe is mostly excitement in Warsaw.
Slate is still in high spirits despite the tax credit being gone.
Guest thinks 17...
@KevinRS thinks "it keeps getting repeated that a civic tows 1000 lbs", which hasn't happened. You and he believe the Civic can't tow.
Why does this matter?
The thread is about people having unrealistic expectations of truck-like capabilities the Truck doesn't have because the Truck is built...
If not, I'd consider that deliberately crippling a useful feature.
The consequences for me would be inability to make a change when away from home because my device with the app won't leave the house.
Ability to set them using the dash empowers the driver to change them.
Digital Dependency shouldn't be necessary.
Instead, deliver on the promise to make the Truck Radically Simple and let the owner make choices.
I haven't seen that. Do you have any links?
Regardless, apparently the towing capacity of a 2022 Honda Civic is 1,750 pounds if the trailer has brakes. That's according to multiple sources, but might not be accurate. 2022 is an 11th-generation, the same generation as now I believe.
Thanks for the feedback. I edited the post to be more clear.
The price is deliberately fixed at 25K because the poll is about the other charges (and incentives).
The logic of it is that State and Local Incentives can be up to $7500, which would bring the OTD price well below $25K.
The poll is asking about a Blank Slate with no wrap or accessories.
The reason is because the purpose of the poll is to discover what people think the other charges will be.
That's helpful for us EV n00bz to know. Thanks.
Scheduling could be similarly easy to set and enable/disable using the buttons and display.
Having it be app-only would be a big disappointment. If I swap cars with a friend for a few days should I need to include my phone with the Truck? No...
What would you expect your OTD price for a Blank Slate* Truck to be?
What amounts do you think would be combined to arrive at and OTD price, including
Sales Tax
Destination Fee (Delivery & Prep)
Documentation Fee
Title and Registration Fee
any other fee (delivery to your driveway or ???)
State...
I'm not sure what "The auto limited the juice flow" means.
What I'm saying is it cold be trivially easy to set a max-SOC parameter using the steering wheel buttons and dashboard display.
Similar capability has existed in cars since at least two decades ago.
The point of this tread was intended to be less about semantics and more about Realistic Expectations.
The first sentence of the OP sums it up:
It seems like a lot of people are expecting the Slate to be more truck-like than it will actually be.
The Truck is heavier-duty than other economy...
