It's only a matter of time before the Anvil Of Obviousness bonks an existing manufacturer on the head and they produce another Small EV Pickup that skirts around the CAFE standards.
It's a pretty good 7-minute overview presentation.
In a market flooded with ever-more complex and expensive electric pickups, this vehicle takes a radically different approach. The concept is simple: pare things back to the essentials. No frills, no excessive tech, no premium trim...
Stumbled across this:
Kia Is Making An Electric Truck For America
Kia confirmed a North American-bound electric pickup is coming.
The automaker wants to sell 90,000 units per year, more than double F-150 Lightning sales
This suggests the new EV will be smaller and cheaper than Ford's offering...
What I'm talking about wouldn't be suitable for human passengers, rather it would be for dogs and cargo (or maybe a big 'ol subwoofer 🔊)
The SUV Kit, at least the squareback one, is similar to a dining table leaf where a section can be added.

[I recognize that there are LEDs, not filaments, but am using the work filament for lack of a better descriptive word.]

If one insurer charges a realistically low rate and the others...
Someone needs to invent a smaller, automotive-compatible (e.g. able to withstand extreme temperatures) version of the desktop Bluetooth Volume Knob.
It could be mounted on on a dash panel so there'd just be a lone knob on the panel. :)
A kit that moves the partition rearward 18" or thereabouts would provide room for a dog or two to ride behind the seats.
Bonus points if it has an openable pop-out window for sniffing purposes.
Or go retro with T-Tops you can stash behind the pickup seat. :)
I agree with your sentiment whole-hartedly, but it doesn't appear to be likely to happen, at least with the OG model.
Maybe it's because matte wrap is more "forgiving" about surface imperfections than glossy wrap.
That, or it...
I'm glad the upgrade happened because I could tell there was something in the content delivery chain that was straining / at its limit. Sometimes pages would require a refresh or two before loading.
Now it's snappy. Cool!
