    BFG KO2 245/75R17 T/A All-Terrain tires on 17" Slate OEM wheels

Indeed the Wildepeak's available as a Standard Load tire in that size (245/75/17), which I think is unusual. Cool! And it's roughly nine pounds lighter than the KO2. That would be easier on the steering and suspension parts and probably ride better as well.

    NMC -vs- LFP Batteries

According to something I read they should be operated between 20% and 80% and not discharged completely, so make that 90 miles as a practical matter.

    BFG KO2 245/75R17 T/A All-Terrain tires on 17" Slate OEM wheels

It looks great. Bear in mind the tradeoffs. That's a 50-pound Load Range E tire with a 31.5-inch diameter. Expect reduced performance and range due to heavy unsprung weight and rotational mass.

Flat Tow support for Slate truck in the works [confirmed]

For those wondering, the reason an automatic transmission needs the engine running is because the transmission's innards require lubrication that's provided by the torque converter, which acts as a fluid pump. The pumping part of a torque converter is bolted to the engine's flywheel, hence the...

    Sliding rear window?

Or ability to open the rear window using its hinges, even if that's only ability to open it slightly, pop-out-window style, to provide some air flow in the cab.

    What would you tow?!

How about this guideline: If you wouldn't try to tow something with a Chevy Sprint, don't try to tow it with a Slate Truck. Would you try to tow a 3,000-pound tent trailer with a Chevy Sprint? Of course not because even a lightweight Teardrop Camping Trailer is probably way over the 1000-pound...

V2L connection (vehicle-to-load) confirmed. Power tools & appliances w/ your Slate truck

This stuff is sort of out of my lane, but if there are Auxiliary Buttons it seems like there must be 12V power. A DC 12V to AC 110V inverter from Wally World costs $24.20. No doubt that's a wimpy inverter, but it stands to reason that the cost of inverter components must not be astronomical...

V2L connection (vehicle-to-load) confirmed. Power tools & appliances w/ your Slate truck

For others unfamiliar with what V2L (Vehicle To Load) capability provides, it means your EV can be used as Battery Bank, apparently by using some sort of adapter.

Removable top over cab - or large sunroof/moonroof, t-roof like Pulsar NX

A tilt-up / removable sunroof would be terrific. I installed one on my 1972 Datsun Pickup way back in the day. Driving with the panel tilted up caused air to flow in and forward, then down the inside of the windshield, then toward the driver and passenger as a gentle breeze. I live where it's...

    Bed Cover

This would be useful for sure. For one thing it'd be useful for hauling dogs. I have a car with rear seats that fold down flat. Dogs ride in the back of that car on a near-daily basis. When you're hauling dogs in the back some ventilation back there would be a plus. The two SUV Tops appear to...

Bigger may not be better when it comes to the battery.

I share this optimistic point of view. Seems to me that batteries will become cheaper, lighter, higher-capacity, faster-charging, etc., in the future. Even as someone not focused on the topic of Battery Technology I see articles -- well, headlines anyway -- about "breakthrough" battery tech...

The Slate Truck Needs A Four-Door Version!

Here's someone's explanation regarding CAFE Standards. He mentions the Slate Truck at the end.

The Slate Truck Needs A Four-Door Version!

My opinion about owning a small two-door truck comes from a few years' experience owning one. When I was college-age I drove a 1972 Datsun Pickup . It was great! I've been noodling the idea of a small, simple modern electric version of that Datsun Pickup for quite a while. When I saw the Slate...

Where's the 3rd brake light / center high mount stop lamp?

Removable rear window would be great, however that would remove the brake light, so... Since the rear window is on hinges, I wonder if it could be possible to open it slightly, pop-out style, to let some air in.

Slate Reservations Pre-Order Tracking List & Stats 📊

Interesting stats! Notably, as of right now (168 records) half are pickup-only and 2/3 intend to leave it Factory Gray. I'd venture to guess that wasn't what was expected.

    Slate Target Market Flowchart

This is something I was wondering about. The Cargo Kit, with no windows, turns the truck into a little electric panel van. I'd prefer to have windows back there.
