I like the idea of the Slate cap that the roof portion might be removable. Could be handy those rare times you have to move something taller than the window/tailgate.
And keep in mind those Slate flat pack panels will attach to cab on front end and the relocated window unit at tailgate which I would assume has support as part of purpose.
