Does the SUV kit make sense?

Curious as to how that rear mounted tire works with the SUV package.

Does the SUV kit make sense?

I like the idea of the Slate cap that the roof portion might be removable. Could be handy those rare times you have to move something taller than the window/tailgate.

Using Rear Footwell Space for Spare Tire Storage (Design Ideas)

Never been a fan of the donut spare but, maybe ought to be a consideration for Slate.

Dark Blue Wrapped Slate Pickup w/ 20" Wheels, All-Terrain Tires, Roof Rack, Bed Rack, Running Boards @ Moto Social Club in Ferndale (Detroit, MI)

And keep in mind those Slate flat pack panels will attach to cab on front end and the relocated window unit at tailgate which I would assume has support as part of purpose.

No, but also didnt have anything that extended below top of bed. not described as flat pack, but sure looks like it would be and shows concept as feasible...

Dark Blue Wrapped Slate Pickup w/ 20" Wheels, All-Terrain Tires, Roof Rack, Bed Rack, Running Boards @ Moto Social Club in Ferndale (Detroit, MI)

guess we really don’t know, but I have had 6 pickups over the years that had a topper/cover, mostly Leers. None of those required any sort of rollbar, extra support. Not carrying passengers so hopefully crash/safety testing not a factor. So I don’t see why adding the Slate top (no seats, no...

Will the Slate’s 8 seconds to 60 mph be adequate for safe highway merging?

Haven’t clocked my Mule either. Shoot, don’t know its top end either. ā˜¹ļø

    Topper version

agree, no seats, no rollbar would like to keep the midgate, but as removable.

ARTICLE: You Need Way Less Range Than You Think

I could easily be that person. I average 5x/yr I expect to exceed 150 miles round trip. And unless I mess up I fully expect all my charging will be at home from my solar electric, hence no additional charge. So far I’m finding even $2500 extra a challenge to justify. Can I afford it, yes. But...

Will the Slate’s 8 seconds to 60 mph be adequate for safe highway merging?

Well, we do have a couple of passing zones on our otherwise single lane highways. And the closet thing to autobahn (the new saddle rd) is also favorite hangout of the local cop$.

ARTICLE: You Need Way Less Range Than You Think

Reading this, my head feels like a ping pong ball at times. I think that as far as mileage I’m going to just concentrate on my personal useage, but remain open to other pluses/minuses vs cost difference. In other words, my Slate is attractive up to lower 30’s all in even with Standard, but if...

Will the Slate’s 8 seconds to 60 mph be adequate for safe highway merging?

62 years of driving a wide variety of both cars and trucks, couldn’t give you a 0-60 value on any of them. Even drove a ā€˜72 VW bug on the autobahns. Still here, so guess I adapted.fill adapt with my Slate.

Does the SUV kit make sense?

Don’t think a cargo van would make sense with the rollbar. my dogs would want the windowed sides so they can see out.
