Suspect that is really dictated by the State. I know here, finalize everything, get Temp plates and DMV ships plates to the dealer in about 3 weeks.
that could prove interesting given the location of Slate pickup. Could involve a Temp in that location and reregister/Title where you live?
Sounds like OP may have a fantastic business opportunity, reconfiguring the Slate Dash to his superior design. Likely make enough to pay for his Slate and then some.

yes, flat packed for DiY, but the FAQs seem to indicate any options can a paid install, either their post production point or partne. As for items like wheels, tires, bumpers, things that are replacements I wouldāt think one would have to buy both the original and the replacement unless you...

Almost ashamed to admit my lack of knowledge in this area. My home batteries are warranted 10,000 cycles, so over 27 years if recylced every day. possible life time warranty for me. š
So, if I understand correctly, someone with a Standard battery and 20 mile commute could possibly be doing 1...
So a curious thought this morning. What if Slateās $25,000 number really is their goal number at actual production and not $25,000 today that will be adjusted for inflation.
