In my mind, I hope Slate Auto remains focused on their "keep it simple" design philosophy with your suggested licensing in the reverse direction. Namely, let Aptera license FROM Slate whatever they need to build the solar panels as an aftermarket sale to Slate owners.
I agree with you @GaRailroader. The Canoo IPO caused them to have "too many cooks in the kitchen" and the company lost its focus. Covid, plus alleged improper financial shenanigans frightened off any further investments and the spiral downward just accelerated from there.
As of right now, I believe relying on federal and state incentives on the day I receive my blank Slate will be like expecting the weather that day to be dry and sunny.

If the Slate Auto philosophy of owner customizable stays true, then an electrical aux panel pre-wired to the fuse box is something we should expect. Then Slate could have a whole bunch of accessories they could also sell for owner installation.
