Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think its any secret that industry backed lobby groups already try to fight right to repair cases and put out anti consumer messaging saying that small mechanic shops can't be trusted doing work. Also, the whole debacle with Hyundai and their brake pad...
Having had a newer vehicle, it is by far the most annoying of my vehicles when things break because there is just so much unnecessary stuff and no documentation for it.
I was originally thinking of having it just one choice. I mainly just wanted to know if Slate continuing to hammer the price point post credit loss still made sense. The price is the thing I'm taking into least consideration personally. I don't mind the lower price, of course, just that I value...
I feel like they've said the OTA will be through the app but thats about it. I believe the second email I got was in response to my question about battery preconditioning.
"Once production begins we will be able to confirm this capability. Our Slate application will facilitate all of the...
I don't know if anyone else has brought it up, but it seems our Q&A questions have been pushed to the general support team as I got two answers from their support team, I assume the one is in response to me asking if they would do factory delivery to which they replied "At this time that is not...
I guess interesting to Slate was bad wording. I mean, what draws you too the vehicle. Although, I do agree that thats something to think about. I'm not as worried as long as they make it too production considering their focus on repairability and off the shelf parts.
Apologies if we've done one of these recently but I'm curious what's most exciting about the Blank Slate for people? I'm wondering if the affordability aspect is as much a top priority or if people are more interested in other things. I'd also like to know if your answer to this poll has changed...
Thats understandable if everyone was here for just getting a small cheap pickup, and while that might be a main reason behind the company's messaging, some of us aren't here for that. It could be argued that the SUV kit could be a competitor to the Prius. Or to the Equinox EV. I'm personally...
This article doesn't mention Slate by name but I found it interesting that it had a render of one.

It really depends on the person as to if it is or not but even then its usually a moral thing. Some people don't like needing to pay for features that their vehicle has as they believe that should be included in buying the vehicle. Some people don't like even the possibility that things can...
Really? I didn't know that was a thing Ford did. Nice to see but I'm still one of those people that doesn't trust the brand as a whole. I'll once again say that I think it's a matter of what you are looking for as to if the Maverick is a competitor for you. For me it's not, but I'm also gonna...
I'd like to push back on this point specifically. Even if doesn't have a subscription, I'd have a hard time believing the Maverick doesn't have a way to phone home data. But this isn't too much of an argument as we don't know 100% if the Slate will do this either until someone gets one and digs...
Living in Ohio and having a 4WD vehicle, not once have I ever needed to use it. I have, on rare occasions used it, but I would have been fine without it. Not that Ohio gets much winter these days anyway. This one has been the worst I can recall but even its not bad.
There are also scenarios where the Slate outperforms the Maverick. In my case, I don't really see the Maverick as a competitor to the Slate. It depends on your perspective as to if you consider the Maverick a competitor or not but I do agree the general public will see it as a competitor and EVs...
I think the point being stated though is that, while there's plenty of "small trucks" for sale. Those buyers would have already bought those trucks. I personally think that the niche Slate is gonna find themselves is people who want a simple no thrills vehicle that they can easily do whatever...
