I live a hour and 50 minutes away from the factory. Or 100 miles. That's within the small battery range with the AC on. But I need the bigger battery just to be on the safe side.

Guess those of us living in Hawaii might have to see if they will ship to Ca and we use a 3rd party such as Matson. That would definitely affect my price.

Some Slate investment came from Mark Walter who is invested in Carvana. While having the other investor (Jeff Bezos) have Amazon deliver the Slate seems well cute. Carvana has all the services and infrastructure to do it.
Maybe we can pick our Slates up at one of the Carvana vending machines! :CWL:

If your referring to ICE engine cars not failing they usually build the dealerships around the service department

depends on the vehicle, KIA / Hyundai ICE engines fail all the time, Chevy engines, Ford Timing chains, turbos, spark plugs, and the list goes on, the truth is they don’t make engines like they use to

I was going to reply to your comments about "moving parts" a few days ago, but decided not to. When I replied to the last post the site software picked up my initial reply to you that I stopped.

But since it's out there, most of the "moving parts" of ICEV don't have high failure rates. Parts do have replacement intervals but most of those are not moving parts. Just because a part "moves" doesn't mean it is any more susceptible to failure.

EV have lots of parts that can fail, both moving and non-moving. Running high amounts of current though electronic components subjects them to wear. Heat is the usual culprit. Batteries do fail at the battery cell level. Batteries and electric motors do produce heat. Heat causes expansion and contraction, which in loose terms is movement.

Just providing clarity.

Great points and honestly ones that I haven’t given a lot of thought to, motors, controllers, battery, charging controllers, cooling system all have potential for failure

Not going to a dealer to get the shaft, priceless.
