From what I've read, the problems with removing wraps have been reduced with materials used in more recent years. First generation wraps are the source of most of those reports. We'll have to see what the recommendations are. Life of a wrap also varies with the wrap. Mattes, neons, holographic don't last as long as gloss.
My cautious attitude revolves around the idea that there could be a removal nightmare if the wrap gets baked on for too long. What she said in the interview is encouraging.

If the wrap is gas-permeable enough to allow bubbles to deflate during installation that means you could probably put something on it that would permeate down to the adhesive and relax it for removal.

Just conjecture. I know next to nothing about the topic.

I see they revamped the maker a little. Now, you can specify HSL values for the custom color wraps!

I have for the past few weeks been disassembling a 55 year old photo album. Turns out those "magic" albums where you peel back the plastic and can rearrange the photos, are both acidic, and the adhesive dries out. Some of it just dried and the photos peel off easy, some is mostly dry but still sticky, even stickier than it started, the only way I've gotten those loose was a product called undu. Some are worse, completely dry and the undo doesn't affect it, heat and prying a little at a time seems to be the only way to save those.

In the time a wrap would be on a vehicle without just weathering off, the 5 decades more modern adhesive on a wrap shouldn't be nearly so much of a problem. Heat, scraping, a chemical, something will work. Most likely you want to remove when the wrap starts showing aging damage, similar to oxidation on paint.

From your post, I'm getting a 1970's green-striped wallpaper removal woes vibe... :CWL:

Well done. The wrap conversation was most enlightening!

When he talked about driving down the interstate and how now all the cars look the same, it reminded of when I was an early teenager and the custom van craze hit. I loved driving by and seeing all the custom airbrushed scenes everyone was putting on their vans. (Especially the ones with the Frank Frazetta inspired scenes with the scantily clad warrior women. I WAS a teenager)

70's chics dug the half-nudes. "If this van's a rockin', don't come a knockin'."
