Now how long will it heat the cab at 15F
If you precondition before unplugging helps a lot. Not much different than letting an ice get to operating temp before driving it.
You could also put a diesel heater in the bed and duct it into the car. You'll be real warm then.

Where I live 104°F isn't considered "extreme".

I've owned cars with A/C that works fine at 104°F but struggles at higher temperatures.

The Phoenix metro area is called "The Valley of the Sun" for a reason. This year's record-high day was 118°F.
Perhaps Slate could roll out a special “Food Truck Edition” for Arizona owners. The hood looks like a griddle, and in that heat, you could actually fry an egg on it!

"Dent resistant" is not "dent proof" :/

I'm guessing they beat the snot out of the whole car. Its a shop tool effectively and probably gets treated like it. Plus, babying it, even being a prototype, wouldn't really be productive to assessing it's capabilities. I usually over-abuse things during testing because I want to see them fail. Better they fail during testing than after they've gone to production - or the client!

Heck, maybe someone got paid to spend a day trying to beat the hell out of it just to see how far it could get pushed before it deformed. If not that one, then another one.

I can't wait to see how Slate's hold up when they get their final body panels and interiors. I really hope they either do some serious durability testing, or farm it out to a third party testing agency.

There was a brilliant video from a German firm that did stress tests for VW, they released a supercut of some of the things they did to them, inside and out.
