What is the "Extension Version" Roof Rack? Is it compatible between body styles?

The Pickup and Open Air body styles have a basic roof rack that mounts at the windshield and above the B-pillars, here's a screenshot (with added tower bars):

and the SUV and Fastback body styles have an "Extension Version" roof rack that mounts at a similar location (there's no non-extension version in Maker AFAIK):

If I want to run pickup-mode in summer and fastback-mode in winter with a roof rack in both body styles, do we think I can just get the roof rack with the Fastback version and remove the center section?

I need a place for gravel bikes and kayaks in summer, and fatbikes and skis in winter!

It does appear that the center section is a separate piece, so that should work, but this is just a render, we will probably know more in June.
