I'm coming from a similar place as you OP. All my cars have at minimum 6 cylinders because inline 6 is the best engine configuration
Really hoping Slate happens and they deliver on their claims.
Those are really long OCI for a N52 engine assuming that's what your E90 has. BMW guidelines from that era aren't really that good especially with that lifetime automatic transmission fluid stuff they marketed. At 400000+ miles you're definitely due for rod bearings given your OCI.
Modern...
I've tried LEDs as well and had similar results. The thing with off the shelf LED lights is that their light emission pattern isn't optimized for regular halogen reflectors. You need a lens designed for LEDs to take advantage of their light output at the very least. HIDs are still the better...
That's a fair opinion to have, but I disagree that taking drone videos of a company's property when given explicit permission to do so is a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with excitement and curiosity over Slate. If anything, they can leverage that enthusiasm from prospective customers to...
The bone stock cheapest option is what I'd get. I think Slate is pushing the customization and modification stuff so much is because they want people to know even know the truck only comes in two battery trims, the options and capabilities are there to later change it to one's liking.
All airspace up to 60000ft MSL in the USA is regulated by the FAA, even the unregulated class G airspace. It's just called that because there's no need for ATC clearance to fly drones there. The 400 ft AGL legal restriction is only for UAS operators. Any drone pilot can fly in any airspace, even...
I'm not entirely sold on wrapping for long term. Since the panels are easily removable, it makes more sense to send them to a paintshop like Maaco and let them spray a simple single stage on all the panels for about $1000.
That's pretty cool. From what I gather the 107 regulations are really mostly for drones for commercial use eg power line inspections, real estate, farming, movie production, and other big money endeavors. They still apply for hobbyists, but it's not really enforced. Basically just be smart about...
If it's private property, the decision is usually between the property owners and the drone operators. Of course, the drone operator has to have their FAA 107 and follow airspace regulations assuming the video will be used in a commercial manner. Airspace is federally managed so Indiana doesn't...
If I'm not mistaken, Scout's management and marketing is all American. VAG has no influence over that at least from what I've seen. That said, VAG does do marketing well. Remember the Audi RS6 Avant ad? That's a real tearjerker. BMW also did a great job with their epic BMW action series.
Only 4 recalls for a brand new car company vs Ford, which has been in business for over a century is not a good look for Ford no matter how you slice it.
That's just typical commuter car brake tuning. The hybrid system exacerbates that immediate sensitivity because of the modicum amount of regen that it attempts to recapture. I drove a gen 8 Civic hybrid for a while and its immediate braking response was the same deal. A proper sports car like a...
I'd trust Tesla more than Ford to make effective use of existing wireless technologies. Ford always seems to take 2 steps forward and 4 steps back, negating any progress with their botched execution.
That's Ford engineering prowess for you. They don't hire 4.0 GPA graduates for nothing.
That's fair. I'm just extremely biased against Ford. The recent Lightning recall with the falling control arm nut doesn't help their image or reputation either...
