Seems I remember when 0-60 in 10 seconds was something to brag about! This was back in the 60s. Back then my car was an old VW beetle and top speed on a good day was maybe 70. How things have changed!
I heard somewhere that just plugging into a regular wall socket charges fine and the slower charge is easier on the batteries in the long term. Can anyone verify that? Iām real new to the EV thing.
I really appreciate this info, never having had an EV (other than my little ZOOM scooter. How do you know this about not getting to zero or charging to 100%? And is it better to let it get down to 30% or so before recharging or just top off every night to 80%? Iām hoping Slate will give good...
Mid 60s VW Cost $35 had a wrecked front corner. Fixed it up. Loved it. As basic as it gets. Why I like the Slate. After a few years it got totaled in a snowstorm by a big Plymouth. But still have a girlā¦58 years and counting! ā¤ļø
This guy doesnāt understand what some of us have been looking for. As a teenager I loved the Roadrunner. Basic, no frills, muscle car. I loved my old Geo Tracker, basic, crank windows, no AC even. Finally someone is listening. Iām ordering the Slate as is! No options! Iāll probably just...
I donāt see this being an only car except for rare situations. But it will be idea for us. Retired. Kids gone. We have a Lexus for road trips, a big old pickup for towing boats and currently a 2 seat Smart Fortwo which has been fun and great for around town. But itās about 18 years old and...
Re the battery. I only have an electric scooter (sit on type). Iāve had trouble with the batteries but have figured it out. With the Slate and itās type of battery will it come with instructions? Eg. Should I let it run down before recharging.? Is a fast charge or slow charge better...
Never having had an electric vehicle Iām going to need lots of suggestions re charging. Only to 80%. Let it run low before charging? Leave it plugged in all the time itās not being used? I hope Slate gives lots of good input re this.
Iām with you. I would be replacing my 18 year old Smart Fortwo. Hopeful that this Slate will come together as good as it seems to be. This would be a perfect around town and to the beach vehicle. It will join our Lexus RX350 (road-trip car) and old Dodge 1500 pickup used to pull our boats.
