    Slate Surveys

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Slate (and virtually anyone with an internet connection) already has access to all our reservations and preferences, if we’ve posted them on the Slate Reservations and Tracking List on this forum. Everyone can see our preferences for pickup only, base or larger...

    Slate Surveys

Any registered member on this forum can post a poll. It's an option under "Post Thread" Of course, the admin can also start a poll. I've started a couple of polls and responded to many.

New Week, New Views of Slate Pickup Parked on City Streets

There are almost 10,000 7-Eleven stores in the US, and they are located in every state. I decided not to chase down that clue.

New Week, New Views of Slate Pickup Parked on City Streets

This may help. There's a Chevron gas station in the background. Here's a map of all the Chevron stations in the US. I think this helps narrow it down a bit.

New Week, New Views of Slate Pickup Parked on City Streets

I was also looking for clues. I think it's a couple of locations, first parked alongside a curb, then on a striped parking space what appears to be a parking lot. While not conclusive, traffic going by appears to show front license plates, so that rules out Indiana and also MIchigan.

Blacked out Slate Fastback - sleek from frunk to trunk

Sometimes it’s difficult to decide between the fastback and square SUV versions. Until I realized, but wait, I can have both!

    Tailgate party, anyone?

Actually, I think the design language of the truck appeals to women. Especially considering the subdued, non-aggressive stance and infinite color palette available for wraps. The Slate may be more of a ā€˜babe magnetā€˜ than you think. And the cash you saved on the truck can be used to spoil your...

Nissan rolls out new 3rd generation Leaf. 300 mile range.

Starting at $35k? No thank you. I will wait patiently for the Slate.

This might be a Drag on Slates success.

Not on the strategic threat radar at SA. They have nothing to worry about!

    Tesla Supercharging ?

You guys in CA have many more Supercharger stations than in NY. It's always crowded here. And for some ridiculous reason they have disabled Tesla SC stations on the NJ and CT turnpikes!

Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

I exclusively charge my EV at the "super off peak" rate, after 10 pm and before 6 am. I always try to avoid peak hours of 3 pm to 7 pm from my local utility. Not many customers are aware they offer several rate plans to accommodate ev charging. All you have to do is ask.

Slate will manufacture its seats in house at Warsaw factory

It does appear that Slate uses seat side airbags for the driver and front passenger. So that will be part of the assembly process. If you follow Sandy Munro, who has a few You Tube interviews on the Slate, he praised the comfort and ergonomic support of Tesla seats. In fact, Sandy uses a...

Ergonomics / Human Factors Engineering on the Slate Truck

Also take notice how large the driver's left arm is. Obviously, it's from cranking windows all day long.

    Tesla Supercharging ?

Not to add to the pain, but for those using a Tesla supercharger there are some new fees in effect: congestion fees, if the station is crowded you will pay 50 cents per minute if you're charging over 80% idling fees if your charge is completed and haven't moved your car. i believe you get a...

    Updated Slate interior digital dash

Why would anyone want to disable the rear view camera? I sincerely hope you don’t parallel park your Slate in front of mine! What if some little kids are playing in the street while you back up and your rearview mirrors don't pick them up?

Ergonomics / Human Factors Engineering on the Slate Truck

Here is a screen shot from the prototype video depicting the interior of the 5 seat SUV variant. As is common in the auto industry, SA designed the interior for the majority of the driving population, better known as the fifth to 95th percentile, which covers persons approximately 5' to 6'4"...

Sound bar - factory mounting location under dashboard

Perhaps, haven’t tried this yet. There is a full browser on board that is Linux based. Plus a suite of movie channels including Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and several more with the full connectivity subscription. And yes, I can access this forum. Really helps pass the time while supercharging!

School me on level two charging

You are correct; not required for hardwired installations. Hereā€˜s the latest on the NEC code regarding EV chargers: NEC Requirements: The NEC 2020 (and later versions) specifically requires GFCI protection for all receptacle outlets installed for EV charging. This means that if you are using a...

Your reservation gets you a Slate test drive in 2026!

Completely agree! But after the long wait is over, let’s hope this forum doesn’t end up like a lot of other forums. They tend to be dominated with complaints. Certainly there will be issues on a totally new design. I just hope they are relatively minor in nature.
