Slate’s BYO Infotainment and the possible issue of Temperatures.

I’m pretty sure I had that same head unit in my old 325i…

Expected price now "Mid-Twenties" for Slate truck

Years ago I dated a woman who owned a Crosstrek. Horrible ride and possibly the worst sound system I have ever heard.

WiFi Connectivity for vehicle control scheduling

I can see the fob initiating some sort of “restart HVAC” control. Press a button and the vehicle starts heating/cooling to current physical dial setting. This of course assumes that the HVAC system is electronic with physical dial input. We know about the input, but what else do we know about...

Expected price now "Mid-Twenties" for Slate truck

Read the fine print. The “under $20K” price was after federal incentives which have now been abolished thanks to our current wreckless federal government (I’m including Congress). Mid-20s without the federal incentives has always been Slate’s position/target since day one. Go back and watch the...

That vid should have just two people doing it, not ten.

Place Your Bets! (actual blank Slate starting price contest)

If needing a pickup truck, that’s a viable option. Too bad it’s a Ford.

Place Your Bets! (actual blank Slate starting price contest)

At least $35K for extended battery, wrap, Cargo Kit, spare tire and carrier. Those are my must haves and like I’ve said before, there are other interesting options that check my boxes in that mid-30s price segment.

So many posts about, will you still buy without EV credit [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I think the auto industry in general (both ICE and EV) is inherently political. Simply because the oil industry is such a large, powerful lobbying force in D.C. and (I believe) automobiles are the largest consumer user of oil-derived products (eg. gasoline, motor oil, lubricants). There are a...

I really hope the extended battery is not a $4K option. $2500 is my hope.

    Fender Flares Widen Stance?

Agreed…or you use wider tires with those flares. There may be a spacer accessory to help with that.

Your reservation gets you a Slate test drive in 2026!

Black ice is treacherous whether you have RWD or AWD. Maybe less so with RWD since without AWD you won’t have a false sense of security.

Would you buy a used Slate truck?

I like this scenario, but only if my home charging situation isn’t resolved in 12 months (it could be). If not, I’m probably going Civic hybrid lease to get the needed fuel economy then will go used Slate in 2030 and return the Civic.

New video in SUV mode w/ 4 adult passengers

I have a heavy duty scissor jack that easily supports the weight of my FJ…its heavier than a Slate.

Why is Slate relevant vs. legacy automaker offerings?

I own a BMW moto (R1200RS). I never for a second considered buying a Harley, mainly because I think Harley owners are always trying to make a statement about who they are…using a Harley bike to make the case. I bought the BMW because it is an incredibly well engineered machine and the ride is...
