Slate is creating an ingenious way of tapping into some deep American cultural programming while fulfilling the goal of affordable transportation. The car=identity has somewhat faded but is still there and ready to roar back with DIY customization. Rumor has it traffic on the Slate Maker is...
I could see slate lobbying for an exemption in Indiana law for an Indiana based manufacturer to be able to direct sell in Indiana.
I would just take my 8.1L gas powered 2500HD GMC and a trailer. 8 miles to the gallon to pick up my EV. š¤š»
Iāve been sitting out the new car market for a long time now because of all the overpriced unreliable vehicles the legacy makers are putting out. Have not been able to get into an EV due to them being luxury vehicles and still too much tech.
Basically āwhat she saidā to Chrisās speech at the...
Amen friend! Preaching to the choir. Wishing Slate and you the best in getting one made and to Oahu.
@Slate this person needs a bump in line. Needs it more than I do.
āJust buy a maverickā. &$ā¬Ā£ that.
Please, Slate, donāt add a GPS to the vehicle. I would like mine as simple as I can get and especially without built-in radio, communication communications devices that are required for operation.

Composite body panels will allow an antenna to be installed underneath the panels. No need for holes and external mounting.
This thing is going to be awesome!
For those who want just a SUV topper, would you leave the back of the pick up cab in place and only relocate the window to the back of the SUV topper?
I could see having a mini cargo van like vehicle with the bed box fully intact as being highly useful.
One of the interviews I saw at the launch stated slate university support for anything other than high voltage work.
I am hopeful but waiting for the fine print. Restricted repair rights or difficulty of repair has kept me out of the new car market for a long time now. Both my vehicles are...
No issue. 6 inches of height difference between me and the other driver that share a car. We found a happy spot for the mirrors and havenāt used the electric. Adjust function for many years.
