I agree with absolutely everything. And I know for a fact that Elon wonāt change, Tesla wonāt fire him, and Slate will have to come in under $25K to have a chance.
Iām calling it now: Tax credits will be gone before this truck is out and Tesla will release a stripped down version of the Y for...
My local gun shop has a legit M2 for sale for $25K. I want it, but I also want the Slate. Of course Iād love both, but unfortunately the bank account says I have to choose one or the other.
The CEO might be a big-mouth, but Tesla is still king of cars. Slate will need to keep their unveil prices to have a prayer of a chance of remaining in business.
For the record, Iām a Tesla owner but fully rooting for Slate to succeed.
Thereās no way V2L will be standard. Itās a bare bones truck with hand crank windows! Weāve become quite pampered these days. Slate is hitting full reverse and bringing us back to the 80s (you didnāt see any outlets in those beds)
New Leaf seems solid. Price is decent.
Tesla is struggling hard with customer relations right now, and their new Y is considerably more expensive than the Leaf.
That being said, Iād bet my life more Ys are sold than Leafs (leaves?) in the next year.
I guess weāll see if Slate gets access. They have the proper charge port and a relatively small battery pack, so I would think theyād certainly want the option.
Iāve been a truck lover since birth. My dad, despite having never owned a truck, bought me a used ā01 F-150 when I got my driverās license. White/single cab/long bed like this one:
I wish Iād kept it around now to compare it to the Slate. It didnāt have cruise control or power locks/windows...
Iām planning to get mine entirely blank with no add ons. Itās what the Slate is supposed to be, and thatās enough for me. Even the wraps, I think, are a little silly. The SUV kit has its place, but just about nothing else does.
It should be a dependable, reliable, simple vehicle, not something...
