At the California offices for the tech company I do remote work for, the chargers were so popular that they ended up hiring a valet to shuffle cars throughout the workday. Fully optimizes the charger use rate, and keeps employees from having constant mid-day interruptions. They also have a...
While I'm a big fan of 3D printing for prototyping and small batch runs, I would imagine the economies of scale would kick in way before their 100,000 reservation holders for such a thing. At that point, it would be cheaper and much nicer to make something like a hard enamel brass pin with a...
There wasn't an option to add an address when I first signed up for an account on day 1 of reservations, so it may be that they're just reaching out to us very very early people to complete our profile.
Tesla sent me a nice concept art print for the Model 3 reservation way back when. Maybe something along those lines. I immediately gave Slate my address!
(found a pic)
I've got the perfect disguise idea. Just say you're here to film the next commercial.
Seriously though, you're going above and beyond. Please don't get arrested.
I think we're a very long way off from this, but what else are we going to do for a year and a half around here?!
My vote is for a van, but not a minivan. Something like a box van or a sprinter. If the fleet vehicle segment takes off for Slate like I think it might, then something you could...
The one thing about the frunk I don't like is the way the grill is attached to the hood, like Bugs Bunny's big buck teeth. I imagine I'll be hitting my head on that thing every time I get under there.
In addition to the repeal of the $7500 credit is a provision to charge an ANNUAL $250 registration fee for EVs. So that's a fun bonus middle finger to the entire industry.

I put a lot of abuse on my CRV, making it do truck stuff it wasn’t designed for. I want the Slate to take the brunt of that abuse, at which point i can get rid of the crv and get a nicer small car for road trips/comfort. Without the Slate, probably just keep running the CRV until it's dust.
We'll see I guess. I'm sure things are very much in flux behind the scenes still. I'm honestly surprised how much the Slate agents are willing to share in one-on-one emails. Typically most companies would simply respond to every inquiry with some form of "we're not ready to announce anything new...
There's some fuzzy interpretation of "standard" here. I think the rep was saying the dash mounted speakers were the standard accessory option, not that they would be included with a "blank" Slate. Including speakers would be an explicit contradiction of the official public announcements.
Pioneer and Blaupunkt have some retro-looking single DIN units on the way. They have bluetooth, and USB ports hidden under the fake tape flap. These might fit the styling of the Slate pretty well...
Definitely AI. Its got a Rivian on the cover! Or some AI Rivian mashup slop. Speaks volumes about whats inside. Probably fed an ai the press release and turned that into 132 pages of regurgitated garbage.
edit: a little more digging. Author put out multiple books on the same day. One book on...
First of all, 🔥hard agree with your list🔥
According to this interview with Chris Barman Bezos was one of several contributors in the series A round, which raised a total of 110 million. They're now at 700mil. That math means Bezos may actually be among the smallest financial backers.
Heres a good article describing BMWs ultra wide band (UWB) digital keys and how they work. Technically, its not NFC, bluetooth, or wifi.

Edit to clarify that first gen digital keys are NFC and require you to tap the...
