  1. Copy Ford Maverick adjustable tailgate

As far as what slate has shown so far, the space between the wheel wells is just a bit too narrow for full sheets of plywood or drywall to lay flat between them. At least 1 interview said that was something they were working on though. Also, looking at the top edge of the bed, is that a rail to...
  2. Open Air Mode Slate Pickup w/ Blue Wrap (from Rhode Island event showing)

And once again someone demonstrating that they can add. It is based on out of date info though. Everyone knows this math, slate hasn't finalized the price though, the only recent quotes are al "Mid-20s" and that's probably all their employees are allowed to say.
  3. Open Air Mode Slate Pickup w/ Blue Wrap (from Rhode Island event showing)

All of these quotes from reporters are based on the reporters calculating the incentive price minus incentive. The only verified pricing I've seen from slate even in actual interview videos since the incentive was cancelled is the same as the web site. "Mid-20s". That is probably all we will...
  4. This is why I’m buying a slate truck

And those small trucks are nearly all 10+ years old. It's getting so you see more contractors in the bigger 4 door trucks because that's what's available. I think if slate is successful, and gets production to the point where you can just order one and have it in a couple of weeks, it will...
  5. 🔋 The Extended Battery Decision (Poll: Which battery option suits you best?)

From some articles I've read recently, the right strategy is charge al the time, but charge slow. If you are using it for your daily driver you just charge it daily, and not worry about 20/80. If the extra weight had little impact on efficiency, the range would be more closely proportional to...
  6. Suspension Poll: Lifted, Lowered, or Standard Height?

On clearance, I've got to figure standard would have more clearance than a standard sedan, and hitting curbs shouldn't be an issue.
  7. Electric For All - Search For Incentives

I wasn't even talking F-350 weight. Talking school bus and semi. After a high school was built near me, you can see by looking at the roads which path the busses take to go to and leave the school to keep to right turns, even around a corner and a mile away. within a few years. The side the...
  8. What is your order?

Hard to calculate where the efficiency is. Most of those are more aerodynamic than the slate, but the slate may be lighter weight than some due to the smaller battery. The bigger the battery in the same vehicle the lower the efficiency because you have to haul around that battery.
  9. Slate model or 3D .stl file

    There is this thread https://www.slateforums.com/forum/threads/scale-models-of-slate-pickup-suv-fastback-for-diy-3d-print-stl-files.13055/
  10. Open Air Mode Slate Pickup w/ Blue Wrap (from Rhode Island event showing)

It's more what writers calculated. As far as I can tell, no one directly said anything but the "Under 20k with incentives" and later "mid-20s" lines. Of course you, me, and anyone writing an article or making a video can quickly do the calculations and get that 27.5k number. It's still going to...
  11. What is Slate competing with for YOUR money?

They have even recently just said over 100k reservations, one other reason they may not have mentioned bigger numbers is they don't want to scare off potential new reservations. If they said 700k, and they've mentioned 150k produced per year, people are going to say why reserve to get a truck...
  12. What is your order?

I think we haven't seen a fraction of the accessories that will be available at launch. There will probably be multiple console options, multiple steering wheel and other button options, different phone mounts, a variety of storage options for in the dash, more tire/wheel options, behind the...
  13. What is Slate competing with for YOUR money?

Exactly. Everything from everyone else is still just vapor and computer generated renders.
  14. Open Air Mode Slate Pickup w/ Blue Wrap (from Rhode Island event showing)

For mail carriers, I wonder if a slate would fit. Range would be the potential issue. An EV with regenerative braking would probably be ideal for some city/suburban to rural routes. In my area, they are stopping about every 110 feet, then gunning the gas to get to the next box. A slate would...
  15. What is Slate competing with for YOUR money?

Slate is actually building prototypes at least. The others I haven't seen more than renders and models that wouldn't be street legal in the US.
  16. Is FORD Preparing to Release a SLATE Competitor?

I really just don't see Ford or the other major manufacturers doing a low cost, easy to repair truck. They have just all been pushing hard in the other direction so long that their whole business model is dependent on it. Even the dealers will try hard not to sell it, because financing and the...
  17. Manual Window Cranks

One reason the window cranks might change is 50% tariffs on imports from Brazil. That might just push it into the range of forget the cranks and just install electric by default for the same or lower cost.
  18. Dark Blue Wrapped Slate Pickup w/ 20" Wheels, All-Terrain Tires, Roof Rack, Bed Rack, Running Boards @ Moto Social Club in Ferndale (Detroit, MI)

My understanding was they posted a position for a seat designer not that long ago, so I'd take the seats being seen in the trucks as placeholders.
  19. Is Slate's absence of telemetry an important distinctive feature?

As others have posted, the "law" required the agency to make a rule, they didn't, because the tech isn't there, and would at this point add thousands of dollars to the cost of each vehicle, so it's in limbo. Just like the recently passed "law" to move a space shuttle to Texas, ignoring that...
  20. Electric For All - Search For Incentives

EVs are only incrementally more heavy than gas vehicles, while semis and busses are overwhelmingly heavier. The wear goes by the fourth power of the axle load, so comparing a 2 ton car to a 30 ton truck, the truck does 15000 times the damage to the road. If vehicles were taxed by damage done...
