A Zipn Hump or Zipn Box combined with a space-saver spare might be the way to go.
Using a space saver tire would require the Truck having ability to temporarily mount a smaller-diameter tire on the rear axle without hurting anything. Maybe it'd require disabling Traction Control.
Here's an ironic attribute of Covert Persuasion:
The more someone believes they're not vulnerable to covert persuasion the more vulnerable to it they actually are.
What we're calling "drop spindles" (re-located hubs) changes ride height and leaves the suspension with it's same range of movement.
Example:
If you start with 3" of downward travel and lift 2" with a spring, now you have only 1".
Compare that to a 2" lift by relocating the hub so available...
The size of the tire, not its type, determines whether a lift is required or not.
You can get All-Terrain tires is the stock size, or a size just slightly larger, and not need the Lift Kit.

Good one. Thanks!
A couple of interesting factoids are in there:

DING DING DING!
We're overtly and covertly convinced by marketing to spend more money on all sorts of things we don't actually need. This has been happening for a long time.

A lockable flat one that goes all the way across would be useful for someone who wants lockable storage -- for tools or whatever -- aside from the frunk.
Either way you thought up a solution for the spare-behind-the-tailgate dilemma, which is pretty cool.
Spare behind the tailgate seems like...

The top five vehicles are all either pickup trucks or compact SUVs, underscoring continued consumer preference for size, utility, and versatility over traditional sedans.
Your solution beats hanging the spare off the back by a mile.
FWIW, moving the wight of the spare tire+wheel to mid-truck (and lower) improves balance.
Your Zipn SpareHump could come in a smaller model that holds a space saver spare.
Reasonable enough.
Is there some sort of score like that, or is there only number of threads started?
Regardless, your silly question has it backwards because part of the reason I started the thread was so as not to run up the number of threads I'd be starting.
That depends on what you mean by "similar in performance terms".
The Ranger is an ICEV with 119 hp.
The Slate Truck is an EV with 201 hp.
That's a lot of advantage, especially from a stop because the EV has boatloads of torque from the get-go and the ICEV needs time to gather up its grrr.
What's old is new again.
I knew people with Ford Rancheros. There was a way to reclaim a similar storage space on those, too.
The Ford Ranchero, based on the Ford Falcon platform, featured a unique design where the rear passenger footwell area in the original sedan was converted into a space...

No, my logic is avoid to re-posting YouTube videos over and over on the forum, because that will improve the quality of the content here.
That way all comments about the video a video will be in one place.
