IMHO that would be way smarter. Localize and de-centralize FTW.

    Factory Delivery option

First let's acknowledge that the factory will create only Blank Slates. We all can agree on that by now. People (not I) seem to believe that "factory installed accessories" will be custom-added to freshly-minted Blank Slates at or near the factory. This would require some sort of Configuration...

Telo reps dropping into Slate event - very positive

    Factory Delivery option

The company is driven by simplicity. If Factory Delivery is seen as a complication it will be left out, at least for a while.

    Production motor JJE

The Slate Truck is all electric, carrying a 52.7-kWh battery that powers a single rear motor producing 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration from a stop to 60 mph should take about 8.0 seconds. Source: Motor Trend article

🔋 The Extended Battery Decision (Poll: Which battery option suits you best?)

Regarding acceleration... My not-so-educated guess is that the Extended Battery option adds 300-400 lbs of weight. If so, another guess would be that it slows the 8.0sec 0-60mph time to more like 8.4 or 8.5 seconds. If that's right, and the two were to race, by the time the Extended Battery...

3 adults fit in second row rear bench seats. Legroom and shoulder room look!

Apparently Lexus got a discount on Crash Test Dummies that don't come with the Leg Kit. (Lexus convertibles have very little leg room in the back.)

One thing I think might hold Slate truck back.

I had one of those too! Never drove it in the snow, but drove it on desert trails a lot and it was fully up to the task, despite being a bit of a Gutless Wonder.

3 adults fit in second row rear bench seats. Legroom and shoulder room look!

I do. I think the back seat's mostly for kiddos. On the bright side two adults fit back there with room to spare.

Slate on Sloat! SF Zoo !

Yes and no. Specifically, yes (for dents) and no (for dings) because the Truck is designed with an ethos of Embracing Visible Wear and Tear..

Two women and an ectomorph with a manbun fit pretty well. Three Average American Adult Males might fit a little tighter.

    New battery technology

I had a 1998 Mustang with poor turning radius. Bummer feature! Now I always research turning radius when researching what car to buy.

Update: Ford's EV 'Model T moment' Announced

I think the natural marketing one-two punch of a Small Pickup + Minimalist Ethos is underappreciated. And Slate's Unique Proposition has more to offer besides just that, like ability to wrap (and, importantly, re-wrap!), convert to an SUV or Electric Panel Van at any time, DIY appeal, etc... I...

Could this be the wrap company Slate is partnering with?

I remember "starting at $500" for a full-wrap kit you install yourself or pay someone to install for you.

🔋 The Extended Battery Decision (Poll: Which battery option suits you best?)

Ha! Well, that's embarrassing. 🤦 I took your advice and tried again. Sure enough, it's negligible (rounds to zero, favors Extended). 240 miles on 84.2 kWh is 2.8503 miles per kWh. 150 miles on 52.7 kWh is 2.8463 miles per kWh. 2.8503 divided by 2.8463 is 1.0014 So Slate's published figures...
