The new Leaf looks like it will be an attractive choice for people looking for a compact crossover transportation appliance. It could indeed be a sales hit.

It might be worth mentioning that Slate DIY work on the Slate Truck's battery is prohibited by design and company policy due to high-voltage safety risks and integration complexity.
Fortunately the battery will be covered by an eight year / 100,000-mile warranty at minimum.
