Isn't the Maverick hecho en Mexico?I thought the part right before was interesting too. Automakers are pausing on tooling in Mexico because of this USMCA. Not that I want to see more turmoil with our neighbors, but this should benefit Slate if the US comes down hard.
The Dealer Doc Fee at Ford in KY is $690 and is nonnegotiable. To my dealers credit, they do not add any BS add ons or Market Adjustments. But there is the doc fee.And shall we talk about doc fees? I'm not talking registration fees or courier fees. Just this mysterious "doc fee" that someone invented 50 years ago. Supposedly, Carvana doesn't have a doc fee. I hope that's true for Slate if the rumors are true that Carvana will be the partner.
In my area, the Ford dealermafia cabalfamily are up to $899 in doc fees. By state law this fee is printed on all their paperwork. It is a state law that IF a doc fee is charged, it must be charged the same to all customers. This is to avoid red-lining and discrimination. So then you have to start negotiating for them to lower their vehicle price to erase the doc fee on an total sum basis. If you are not careful, this happens in the finance managers office. It becomes a real hassle for the buyer because you are now up against the #1 sales associate in the building. He or she has balls of steel and you are a puny little inexperienced lump of putty.
This is where I get frustrated with people talking about Ford comparisons. I know a lot of people are master negotiators, and they can deal with all this crap. But for the rest of us, we just get unknowingly screwed. Then we get on the internet and tell the world about the great deal we got, and don't include the doc fee because "it is a standard non-negotiable fee" and not part of the deal.
The TPT is just what they call the sales tax that out of state sellers have to pay. The amount is the same as the regular sales tax, which is 5.6% for the state plus whatever county and local sales tax piles on top. In Tucson and Phoenix it totals out to around 8.5%ok looks like direct to consumer sales are using this tax in az Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) and that is 5.6%.
oh ok i didn't know that ok comes out to be monthly $517.34 assuming everything else is right but that's a ghost tell laterThe TPT is just what they call the sales tax that out of state sellers have to pay.
