Did the "big bill" just end EV Tax Credits for Slates?

I don't follow politics too closely, but I did just see an NBC interview clip where President Trump mentioned the EV credits are gone now.
It doesn't matter to me because I never expected any credits would still be available when my Slate is built.
I'm still planning to buy a Blank Slate when my reservation order becomes active.

I read that it will end on September 30, 2025.

But take heart. We get additional permanent $750 /person standard deduction adjusted for inflation. And over 65 another $6000/yr for 3 year senior deduction. So additional $20250 for me, double if married. might go further than the $7500 which As I understand not everybody got either. Almost pays for my Slate. Even if under 65 you still get 2250 or 4500, more if counting beyond the 3 years so potentially more than the EV credit.

Without diving too far into the politics- nobody is getting an "additional X dollars", just extending the current policy "permanently" (until the next guy changes it).

Sorry, either NYTimes reported wrong or I can’t read.

Standard deduction
Increase by $750 ($1,500 for couples) in 2025 and make permanent with inflation adjustments

Terminate personal exemptions and add temporary senior deduction
Make permanent the termination of personal exemptions (they were replaced by a larger standard deduction and child tax credit in the 2017 tax bill) and add an additional $6,000 deduction for seniors for tax years 2025-28

Yes, it is making permanent the changes from the 2017 bill, that have been in effect since then. Not new, additional cuts from previous tax years. If I understand correctly.

Sure looks like the words “increase by $750” and “additional $6000 deduction” are there in the text as well as “permanent”

Sure, looks like the standard deduction is getting an increase, which it has every year since 2016. A $1500 increase in the standard deduction for a household making $300k (max eligible for current EV tax credit) is an extra $525 in the pocket of that family.

Not sure about the senior deductions, but deductions are not 1:1 take home.

The rest of the tax changes are extensions from the 2017 bill.

Still has to go back through the House, but most likely will go through in some form. Maybe there'll be more changes? I'm sure the compliant representatives and senators are going to enjoy their bonuses and gifts from the oil and gas industry. Let's increase our dependence on a limited, polluting resource while adding additional taxes to renewables. Oh, and $3.3 trillion added to the deficit. Disgusting really.

Thanks to all posts for reminding me why I don't bother following politics too closely.
In the end, it does not matter.
I will buy a Slate, not because I get a tax break, or even that it is an EV.

My Blank Slate will be just a truck. Anything not a truck will not included. So I will be buying just what is necessary. Anything that I want in or on my Slate, I will add myself.

And...
this is the best part...
If a 2 passenger pickup truck becomes not enough, I will make my Slate into an SUV -- myself!!

When it’s a $7.5k difference in price, I start to pay attention. Fortunately my state offers a $3.5k rebate that will likely stick around. $27k for this truck is still competitive in today’s market and I really like the design and concept and will likely buy it even without tax credits as well, but definitely a bummer if it goes away.

As much as I'm bummed about us potentially losing the EV credit, I work 12 hour days and 3.5 hours of that is time and a half overtime that potentially won't be taxed. It'll counter the EV tax credit loss but it's not me that I want to save on a Slate, it's everyone else wanting one!

My state doesn't have a state EV credit of any kind, but I hope to soften the blow by selling my beat-to-hell commuter car for at least $3,000.

You get daily OT over 8? Sweet gig!
Wonder what the govt defines as OT. Anything over 40? Let the company define it?
Probably not the forum to discuss that… I bet Google would better serve me
