During the pandemic I became fascinated with semis. While in trucking school, I started building wood model trucks. I never thought I'd own one until now!

The wood was stained with used oil from one of my street cars. The colors were added before the oil treatment, I recall, with typical markers.

Dear Admin please move this to the MISC sub if it's not properly interior mods. 🙏

Edit: The truck is on its way to a new home in Indiana via USPS, along with mad buggy, space spider, and two pistols. It occurred to me during email exchanges about a recent UOA that these models are better off at an oil lab. 😁

Someone asked about a die cast model in the Q&A. I think it'd be easy for WoodTrick to revive this wood model for Slate. It will need minor tweaking and less pieces (no ICE haha).

For those new to wood models, 3D parts are made from stacking several pieces together. The model comes in a box of 4 to 5 sheets of wood. For example, the wheels/tires are 5 pieces combined. Sometimes toothpicks are used to bond pieces together.

I prefer wood over plastic. I have assembled only one plastic truck model and was quite miserable throughout.
