I'm curious if there will be, for the potential of added power windows. I imagine they'll conform to the anti-pinch regulations, though I'm not sure if they're legally required to if the power windows don't have auto-up or one-touch up/down functionality.

Not quite sure what I'm supposed to see here. Obviously there will be wires run to the doors for the power window modules, I'm just speculating on whether the modules will need CAN signals for the anti-pinch stuff. CAN signals belies an ECU/BCM of some sort, which is what Metroshot was talking about

I'm thinking the Slate will probably not have the anti-pinch if they're going for a simple drop in motor box. Maybe they'll have some logic onboard measuring current draw of the motor and have it cut off if it reaches above a certain threshold. Doing some research I found what looked like a company selling an all in one chip for monitoring motor speed, current draw, etc. to have it all on one local control board at the motor, so maybe it can be done.

I know the feds mandate that you can't have old-style rocker switches for power windows, but that's on horizontal surfaces. Not sure if that bans up/down switches on a vertical surface. But at this point who knows if the box is anything more than a simple render.

I’m wondering if that is a simple battery operated electric motor that will fit over the crank stub after removing the handle. Since the owner is doing the installation it would likely not be subject to any of the safety regulations. 🤔

I reaaaaally hope it’s not battery operated. That would be really disappointing, especially since it will (presumably) already be wired up for power door locks.
