Not the battery but the heat n the vehicle. I used to know the numbers but I think AC was 35000 BTU and heat was 80,000BTU to make it comfy. A lot of AMPS!!

Better check your numbers. 36,000 BTU (3 ton) central air will cool a small home. 80,000 BTU will heat a small home.

Did you mean 3500/8000 BTU ?

No you're in a box with limited insulation going down the road. Windchill. In the summer it's in the sun.

I have considered getting a portable AC unit for car camping in the summer. From checking the specs, all the energy efficient units (EcoFlow Wave2 or portable AC for small rooms) offer 4 digit BTUs (5000~8000). I imagine the capacity of the AC built in a car would be higher but not 10 times higher? The interior space of my old Suburban is less than 70 sq-ft and can benefit from a 5000 BTU AC. 35000 BTU will take a lot of power to run.
