Perhaps Slate team has already considered this.

If not, suggest that the portion of the dashboard that is nearest the doors be designed such that the wing mirrors can be mounted right at the end of the dashboard if the doors are removed. Solves multiple problems. Let's all the mirror options work without doors, eventual third party mirrors. Requires no re-engineering of doors or front quarter panel. Etc...

Slate should mount the mirrors
to the frame of the windshield
instead of the door.
Problem solved.

This problem has plagued Jeep owners
who like to drive "naked" (sans doors).
The aftermarket offered many solutions.
Inexpensive motorcycle mirrors
bolted into the vacant hinges
was the easy way out.

A pair of mopeds mirrors should slide into the mounts and be fine. We do that on many jeeps. Or stick on mirrors.
