That sucks. First thing that bothers me about the truck. I believe in spare tires, especially on a truck. Not that I won't still buy one, but it still blows.

So, if I opt to keep it a pickup, the choice is NO SPARE or throw it in the back. I suppose the reason is the battery pack takes up too much room under the bed.
No spare is pretty common practice now. Once you consider the added cost, weight and how few people bother to change a tire, it’s not surprising that it would be optional.

I almost wish I didn't hear about the Slate truck. I'm getting impatient and it's over a year away. 🤪
So true. Caught myself the other day thinking, Gee, wish I were 10 years younger (be 79 this year). Quickly corrected thinking to, Hope I get to enjoy this truck at least 10 years.

Agree, but we all know how fast another year rolls around. I think many of us will be hugely disappointed if production is delayed. Anyone who has worked in manufacturing in any capacity understands how production schedules can quickly get off track: supply chain issues, shortages, facility issues, loss of key workers (due to illness, vacation), quality issues, defects, rework, contingency planning, etc. These issues are routine even for well established companies, but compounded even further since we are dealing with a startup. Even the most experienced production / planning and management teams face setbacks all day long. I’m sure it keeps the Slate team up all night.

Yet I remain optimistic that Slate is working through all these challenges behind the scenes. And I appreciate they occasionally leak out an update or drop an entertaining video to keep us from losing interest.
