I don't expect anyone here to know the answer yet, but I was hoping to order the fastback top without rear seats. I wonder how possible this might be? Is there any way of asking someone at Slate?
Thanks!

yag you can contact them and they mostly respond to question but I’m betting the fast back would come with the sears it feels more suv like then the regular but might be a option when production starts since I think as of now there is only 2 things that can’t be changed or maybe a bug never got a reply
1) you need the upgraded rear bumper for the spare tire
2) can’t get the spare tire with the fast back
So far those are the only two things in the configuration that you can’t go with it’s ether a bug or it is a requirement

Interesting. I have not accounted for the spare tire. Where is the spare now, and why would I have to relocate it?

If the spare is in the usual truck location under the bed, I doubt I'd have to relocate it. Anyone know where the spare is?

A spare tire is not standard equipment. If you want one, it either goes in the bed or gets mounted to a special rear bumper on a swing-away arm.

That sucks. First thing that bothers me about the truck. I believe in spare tires, especially on a truck. Not that I won't still buy one, but it still blows.

So, if I opt to keep it a pickup, the choice is NO SPARE or throw it in the back. I suppose the reason is the battery pack takes up too much room under the bed.

Your options are no spare, throw it in the bed, or mount it on the back. Base, SUV, Cargo, or Open Air. SUV and Open Air might be tight putting it in the bed depending on tire size. I'm guessing that the battery is mounted too low below the bed to allow a spare tire mount under the bed...that combined with the rear motor and De Dion axle. The bed floor height is a function of loading height and rear seat mounting height.

I know its 2025, but I'm old and I don't think a new vehicle should come without a spare. So, at bare minimum, I'd have to order a spare, jack, and lug wrench, not to mention a spare mount if I don't want it bouncing around in the bed.

Don't shop new Civics...none of them come with a spare tire. Just a patch kit.

True, but I don't intend on doing truck things with a Civic.

My point is that new vehicles are shipping without spares. Personally, I prefer having a spare onboard (my FJ spare is mounted to the rear door), but knowing how to do a simple tire patch through the tread is a good skill to have. That plus a portable air compressor can come in handy.
