Been reading and viewing almost everything I can consume about SLATE. So much info and various “reviews” yet continually reminding myself that the real test remains with those of us who will become owners in the near future.

We, as owners, are the true arbiters of the success of SLATE.

Experience is the best review. Pay for the product, drive it, have friends drive it, and speak your mind of the experience.

Those “controlling” capitalism want us in our separate camps; not sharing experiences/perspectives across multiple channels. The narrative is being controlled and our voices need to shift the influence. Especially with respectful, honest and insightful feedback.

Journalistic bias fits right into this, especially in vehicles not yet being sold. Shelf life is short once the masses start weighing in on registered/rolling stock.

Those that own a product and paid full freight for it are the folks that I personally value in hearing unmitigated feedback from. This is why this forum is crucial. We are mostly just vehicle loving folks respectfully sharing our opinions based on real world experience, which we have all lived.

While it is good to read various journalistic perspectives; I personally want to hear from OWNERS. Not someone whose salary is derived from OEM marketing funds, various fully paid OEM junkets and such. Opinions of automotive journalists remain valuable and respected yet not the end all be all for this auto enthusiast.

We have a family friend who is an automotive journalist. He will drive our SLATE once it is received for as long as he desires. He wants our candid feedback and will come to his own informed conclusions.

Who are you going to trust?

I don't believe in throwing away the baby with the bathwater. There are plenty of highly respected auto journalists out there who have spent decades establishing credibility. I'm going to read and view what they have to say, and only after they've had actual production Slates in their hands for a week or more.

As for members on this forum, they're mostly nice people (well, a few here are totally unhinged lunatics). But the Slate forum is inherently and intensely biased. So while I'm looking forward to ownership reviews here, I'll read them with an understanding of who they're coming from.

What is the authoritative source of information about Slate? The undeniable truth? That would be actual sales figures over the next few years. Not the first month. Not the first year. Several years.

It’ll be the same as any other vehicle forum. There will be fanbois who make excuses for the automaker and ad hominem anyone who disagrees, there will be those who complain about every little thing, and there will be those who didn’t do their homework and understand what they were buying. However, the real world data will be there, with different perspectives on its meaning.
