That's OK. I didn't find it either, but it's here. If I were still in the programming business and working for this site's vendor, I'd have an automatic fuzzy search that alerted thread posters of existing similar threads. Or better yet, just a site AI.

@E90400K, I agree with you. I looked at the Ranchero/Fathom the first day of their reveal and it was an easy decision. No way. Ford still doesn’t get it right for me.

Listening to this interview, I don't really like what I'm hearing. "Integration of digital life", pushing for AI integration, etc.

Why do I need that? Why do I want that? No.

The beef between Ford and Apple is really weird. It feels like "We [Ford] don't want to give up control." instead of it being a "why not let the customer decide?" Jim's discussion later builds on that point, trying to argue that Ford isn't fighting over control and it's a safety concern but I don't believe it given the want to integrate everything together.

This fight over control is why I just don't want to be party to it. Both should stay out.

"We believe ADAS integration with your entertainment system is so critical." Why the [farg]...? Who the [farg]? WHY? This position ticks me off as a customer. I demand critical controls be separate from non-critical and Jim's interview made it completely clear that is not the way they are going.

He's right that the software and experience is becoming a primary differentiator. He's just going the 100% opposite direction of what I want.

Been referencing the text version of this interview for a while (not sure I mentioned on the forum) because it gets into exactly the sort of tech I oppose. The interview is from last September, so it's weird if the video is actually a month old as of this Monday.

I only see Chris Farley when I watch this guy. Looks like him and talks like him too.
