Not seeing that solar power will cause any pollution.
And that's because solar panels grow on trees. They are not made in factories and the materials are created by magic.
You don't have to have 200 ton haul trucks and shovels loading up lithium bearing material in the Atacama desert and dozers making berms, then flooding it with water denied to local villages so you can evaporate the water from the soluble lithium. But hey! you are using the sun for that!
So NIMBY rules to give everyone that righteous feeling.
And I want a Slate.

Generally EV's have lower lifetime owner cost over ICE vehicles. No engine or transmissions to wear out or need service, no catalytic converters, etc..
Eh, 2M ownership miles on 14 cars. Never lost an engine, transmission, or cat converter. Several cars went over well over 200,000 (one at 400,000), 6 others well over 100,000 miles. All were 10 -15 years old (still have one at 29 years old).

I have a little over 256,000 on my 2014 ford focus. Knock on wood, I've never had any major problems with it. Replaced two O2 sensors on it and had to fix the wiring harness. It rubbed through and shorted two wires. The engine would randomly shut off while driving and come up with an engine fault. A little unnerving when you're doing 80 down the highway!
