How are folks buying Slates? Financing / loans?

So very curious, how are the majority of people actually buying these? How are folks getting loans, financing? Assuming most buyers aren’t rich folks paying cash outright. what options are out there for mere mortals?

I looked into financing with my own bank/CU. Not sure how it works though. When buying from dealerships, I brought a cashier's check for the amount financed and a personal check for the down payment. The car was considered paid in full with the dealer, and I kept paying the bank. When I last checked, the CU rate was lowest. We should be able to do this online, perhaps by electronic transfers. It will be a first-time for me.

I will try a mixed bag. Hopefully use a Credit Card for most to get a couple of percent back. Then, maybe a thousand or two in a Loan to to make my Credit Rating remain high. It is currently around 830.

Definitely through our credit union. This will be our fourth car through them.

Two years ago we bought a new GR86.

I spoke with the credit union car specialist on a Monday afternoon about what we wanted. He called Monday night after locating the car as it was being backed off the trailer at a dealership eighty miles away. We called dibs.

After a couple of phone calls, the loan was completed.

He arranged for the car to be delivered to a branch in our city. We Lyfted over and got the keys that Thursday evening.

We never even test drove the car! ;-)

Not sure why I shared that story, but I've always loved our transactions with the CU.

Incidentally, we absolutely love that car.

I've never owned a truck or an EV, but I've always wanted a true mini pickup! My wife had a Chevy LUV before I met her in 1987. I never saw it, but she always talked about it.

Expecting it will be a year+ before I'm at the purchase phase. However, I've been saving for a couple of years and will be able to purchase outright or minimal loan. Still hoping for a test drive (or at least a test fit) and the 2nd motor to get up by driveway in the winter.
