Yah, drove my wife crazy when we test drove a Honda Prologue - set to 1PD and made her nauseous with the lurching in traffic.
Sales person showed us how to turn it off and never to 2PD and it was a fantastic test drive.
Hoping the Slate will have on/off 1PD.
Be very careful what you put on to the 12V bus.
EVs are notorious for low 12V issues.
My Ford EV has a stop sale / recall for the 12V going low and trapping people in the car !
I put in a small 12V 12Ah gel cell battery that is solar charged to power my UHF and VHF 2way radios.
Since you like Honda products, take a look at the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX - both are GM Ultium platforms but for a short 2 year lease until Slate starts up, I think I am going to go with them!
Huge $20K price drops makes it very tempting.
😅Of all the new cars I have had, my '23 Ford BEV has been the least problematic of all - OTOH the worst was a new Land Rover Discovery that was on the other end of the spectrum....
However, as the Ford Mach E just reached 30K miles, it is starting to show up with many annoying issues:
Front...
Yes, if you drive exclusively 1PD then it's a matter of practicing.
But I also drive white fleet vehicles (government exempt cars and trucks) and they are all 2PD.
So to prevent muscle memory issues at my old age, I'd rather not get into an accident with my 2PD and 3PD work vehicles as I would...
Yes I noticed the OnStar SOS button on the headliner.
The infotainment system looks antiquated GM style too.
Charging at Tesla Supercharger requires you to tell it you are a GM Blazer vehicle...
It will do for 2 years when the Slate should be out.
I am now seriously going to lease the Prologue for 24 months because who knows how long the Slate will take.
My Ford BEV is starting to give me issues as I near the end of warranty....
App programming is easy - my high school students do this routinely in our CTE/STEM labs and competes with other school districts.
Software team is needed if you want OTA (over the air) updates - that takes a lot of effort.
Ford's OTA team is so massive an encompasses almost every model and...
Most new cars have phone app controls - Slate should have a basic app...
My Ford and Honda EV have them for turning on climate controls before leaving, remotely locking/unlocking, raising windows, etc.....
Don't know where you drive, but in Los Angeles, we drive with the brake pedal covered all the time.
When I drove the Prologue in 1PD, it was impossible for the car to stop in time with all the traffic cutting in front of you.
If I relied on the throttle pedal, I'd rear end cars all day in LA...
Took the wife on a test drive with the Honda Prologue at our dealer and they had an awesome $249/month + tax lease special.
Dealer confirmed in writing that the figure is correct for us as we have top tier credit during a soft pull.
Wife did not get it due to the wife not liking the 1PD that...
Test drove a Honda Prologue for the wife and it had 1PD enabled which she said it made her sick with the traffic during the test drive.
We never drive with 1PD in our EVs, it's always 2PD.
When we returned to the dealer, salesperson showed us how to turn off the 1PD and go back to...
Not worried.
Have had 4 reservations and all posted on forums sites and never had a reservation stolen.
It's tied to your email/phone and credit card.
Of the 4 reservations, I was able to order and purchase (Lightning and Mach E).
The 2 reservations that never came to price fruition (GM...
Yes, the first pre-production Ford Lightnings were demo drives driven by a professional driver.
Guess they can't trust you can handle the enormous torque and HP ?
