    Outsourcing the frame build.

It’s a unibody. Welded space frame, not cast (like Tesla uses).

    Outsourcing the frame build.

According to ChatGPT, these are the leading robotic automation companies: My money is on Slate going Japanese. 36-51% market share.

RHD for those of us who call a mile 1.6kms

I'm hopeful that it can be adjusted for different tire sizes.

    Outsourcing the frame build.

Maybe 100% robotic welding for the space frame?

Just got this email from Slate: SIGNED. SEALED. DELIVERED?

Considering how long it took VW to bring the Buzz to market, it seems like a really big missed opportunity. So much anticipation, and so much disappointment. Would make an excellent Harvard Business School case study.

    Door panels

I would rather have a storage bin than that tacked on armrest thing.

    What would you tow?!

There are some pretty good single bike hitch racks. Either less expensive ramp style or more expensive jack style like this: https://motojackrack.com/

The good folks at Honda must have this book as required reading for new hires. Meanwhile Porsche has never heard of it.

Another very optimistic take on Slate from auto expert Sandy Munro

I see a clarifying article stating same. The Rivian engineer was quoted out of context. Doesn’t change my position on Scout.

SLATE office dog approved: The goodest boy (ad commercial)

    That’s not an ad, it’s a movie.

Another very optimistic take on Slate from auto expert Sandy Munro

I just read about how the Rivian R2 will be the [software] platform for future VW EVs which makes me think that Rivian, like Scout, is becoming another division of VW. So why did VW do the Scout deal? 1) more U.S. manufacturing with the new plant in S.C., 2) adding a body on frame vehicle to...

Slate is "confident in our plan -- [tax] incentive or not."

The language below the highlighted section (see below highlighted in green) seems to say that vehicles placed in service after 12/31/25 will still be considered clean if the manufacturer has not made over 200K by 12/31/25. Slate meets this criteria. Am I reading this correctly?

Another EV truck company goes down - Bollinger

Kinda looks like a very stretched old Defender. Would be better if it lost the rear doors and the bed was shorter. Shorter wheelbase too. 110" would be perfect.

PSA: Extended Range Battery can NOT be added / retrofit installed after purchase (confirmed by Slate)

Really good stuff. People reading should be aware that wiring solar panels in series makes the voltage additive while doing it in parallel makes the current (amperage) additive. The higher the current, the thicker the cables need to be to handle the heat. Typically, LFP power stations like more...
